Re: USB recognition

On your new PNY USb is it 3.0 or 2.0 and does your machine do 3.0?

USB 3.0 Connectors are different from USB 2.0 Connectors and the 3.0 connectors are usually colored blue on the inside in order to distinguish them from the 2.0 connectors

Re: How to Encrypt Individual Files and Folders via GUI

A simple way to encrypt a single file is with openssl:

Code: Select all

openssl des3 < youfile.txt > yourfile.txt.des3
This will prompt you for a passphrase, which you will need to enter later when decrypting the file.

Code: Select all

openssl des3 -d < yourfile.txt.des3 > yourfile.txt.decrypted

If it is formatted to NTFS you may need NTFS-3G which you can get through the Synaptic Package Manager - NTFS-3G uses FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) to provide suppor...

Re: Help opening program as root

most of the time executables get stored in usr/bin

A simple

Code: Select all

find / -type f -name ""
would do the trick if you know exact filename.

Code: Select all

find / -type f -iname "filename*"
if you want to match more files (ignore case).

hope this helps

You can start Waterfox in Safe mode by pressing the “Shift” key while it is starting, or you can click on the “menu button – > Question Mark -> Restart with Add-Ons Disabled, See...

Re: [Wine] Can't open any program.

Seems there was an issue with your OpenGL drivers. To solve the issue, run the following command to check out where your libraries were pointing to: ldconfig -p | grep libGL.so.1 post back your output should look similar to this libGL.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1 libGL...
