Re: How to create an ISO of system partition
My two cents---as the others have said, an ISO is not needed. You can also create an image of a partition by using the Disks utility that's already available in Mint. I'll create some screenshots to show you if you'd like. Thanks but the problem has been solved because it turned out there was no pr...

Re: How to create an ISO of system partition
Under normal circumstances, as a helper here I frown on "why are you doing that" questions because it's none of our business but this one is calling out for it. Do you really need the OS partition in ISO format, or do you really need a backup of the OS partition in case something goes wro...

Re: How to create an ISO of system partition
Everything went fine. Installed and made the.sblive file. But ... where in Systemback do I convert to an ISO?2) at first it creates a sblive file, that you then convert to iso (all with the same program though, so don't sweat that)

Re: How to create an ISO of system partition
Yes ... now that everything is installed and tweaked ... I'd like to take an ISO of the partition.Do you already have a previous installation of Mint and that's the one you want to create an image of?

SOLVED - How to create an ISO of system partition
Hi All – Before installing LM 20 BETA I created 2 partitions. One for the OS and one for /home. Now I’d like to create an ISO of the OS partition and put it in /home. But … I have no idea how to do that.
Step-by-step instructions please. I’m an idiot.
Thanks in advance.

Re: LM 20 Ulyana - beta, post here
Installed LM 20 Cinnamon 4 days ago. I don't know how "they" do it but this beta "feels" faster, more responsive than LM 19.3. I have had only 2 quibbles while everything else checked out. This is a Great version of Mint. The quibbles: Why is there a 5 second grub menu? I'd expec...

File copy/move speeds to and from server
Is there any reason why copying files to or from the server takes twice as long (47MB/sec) from a Linux Mint (LMDE 3, 18.3 Cinnamon, 19.1 Cinnamon) machine than a Windows 7 computer (80 – 100MB/sec)? The main computer is a dual boot LMDE 3/Windows 7. On the LMDE side I also have a Window 7 vm. Trans...

This, and all your other custom Nemo actions, are GREAT. I'm grateful there are people in the Linux Community that work very hard ... so I don't have to.

Re: Theme doesn't change Radiotray's "look"
I was just about to do that (recent rebuild) when I got sidetracked with fine-tuning theme-ing. Now everything is tweaked and I can get back to work.

SOLVED! Re: Theme doesn't change Radiotray's "look"
Well that was simple. Thank you very much. I thought I'd be sifting around in the css file for-freakin'-ever. I had never enabled that setting simply because I had no idea what it meant. And my motto is, "When you don't know what you're doing ... don't do anything."

SOLVED! Theme doesn't change Radiotray's "look"
I’m using LM 18.3 Cinnamon. In 18.1-18.2 the desktop theme changed the look of Radiotray’s pop-up menu from the panel. In 18.3 it does not. The theme I’m using now changes the look of the pop-up menus for the Calendar, Weather, and Sound … but not Radiotray … Is there anything I can do about it? Thi...

Excellent movie about how to make folder links to the desktop. But ... you'll note that the shortcut still has the !@#$%&* little arrow on it.

LM 19 Cinnamon can't "see" server on Windows Network
Hi All, I’ve been having lots of problems with LM 19 Cinnamon that I never had with 18 – 18.3. Here’s the most significant of them. Immediately after installing the OS (LM 18 – 18.3), I needed some files from the server. Before LM 19 here’s how the process went: Opened Nemo, clicked on Network, clic...

Re: Getting rid of arrows on shortcut links on desktop
An easier way: To create symlinks in Linux Mint Cinnamon: In the file manager (Nemo) open the View menu > Extra Pane. Open the Desktop folder in one pane, and the source folder in the other pane. Click on the folder or file you want to symlink. Hold down SHIFT-CTRL and drag the folder to the other p...

Re: Getting rid of arrows on shortcut links on desktop
Right click on folder, click on "Make Link" (which then makes a link with a !@$%&* arrow on it), and cut and paste the link onto the desktop.
