Re: Update Message

Well, I'm tempted to mark this solved, but I've no idea how it was solved.

Fingers crossed, but it seems to have fixed itself :?:

Time will tell I guess. :D

Re: Update Message

Thanks sleeper.

Looks like the ppa has been removed and is supposed to redirect?

Unfortunately the whole screenshot was too big to upload but this is part of it and might give a clue.

Well I wonder what else will accompany “Edge” to improve your “Browsing Experience”?

Re: Imagination (Slide Show Maker)

Thanks again guys,

Great effort Racer, loved it.

But if "Imagination" actually worked, or I could actually get it to work, it was exactly what I wanted.

Never mind, my skills with Linux are well below average so I guess "So Be It". :D

Thanks guys but I can't get it to work so I guess I'll have to keep looking for something that does.

Re: Imagination (Slide Show Maker)

Thanks for your time Racer. No I didn’t install any other programs other than Imagination. It does look as though ffmpeg is installed, though but I can’t find Multimedia Codecs anywhere. Here are some screenshots that might be of some help. Imagination.resized.png Imagination1.png Imagination2.png

Imagination (Slide Show Maker)

I thought Imagination was just what I was looking for but can’t get it to see the Background Music files. It can see the folder containing the files, but not the actual files. The music files are all .mp3. It is the same on both a Mint – 18 – Cinnamon machine and a Mint 19.3 Cinnamon machine. The mp...

Re: PDF Merge Program (Solved)

Thanks Guys or Gal’s,

After checking all the suggestions I have gone with DisturbedDragons “pdfslam”.

At the end of the day it worked perfectly, for what I wanted, and at 76yo I make too many mistakes with “Command Line Instructions”.

All your suggestions were appreciated. :D

PDF Merge Program

Is there a program for Mint that will merge a number of PDF files into one?

Thanks

Basic Audio Recorder.

Anyone recommend a simple recorder that can record from the the computers Microphone.

Sort of thing you can use to record instructions on how to do something.

Re: Webcam can’t be found.

Good Morning, Sun rising (Mon) down here and it doesn't look like much of a day. Checked Laptop and as expected "Cursor Wheel" still spinning but no progress over night. :( So, re-booted and Mint 19.3 wasn't an option in the Grub Menu so I booted from faithful old 18.0. Thought I'd take a look at wh...

Re: Webcam can’t be found.

Installation still going.

Rotating cursor wheel still going but no action on HDD Light.

My turn for a sleep, so it can sit overnight but I fear another epic fail.

Actually, how long should an installation of Mint 19.3 Cinnamon take on average :?:

Re: Webcam can’t be found.

Nope, never heard of LMDE4. We’re a bit slow being upside down on the bottom of the world but officially, time wise, we’re 10 hrs ahead, so I suppose that’s a consolation prize? :D Anyway, I'm curious about this LMDE4 and will have a play with it when I’ve cleared a few other tasks. In the me...

Re: Webcam can’t be found.

Ahhhh, now I have had offers of kernel updates, but declined on the basis they were grade 4 or 5 and from what I’ve read likely to screw everything up. I might have to reconsider the risk. Yes, I’m a Mint 18 collector, just to try out, but I still consider 18.0 the pick of them. I’m not one to rush ...

Re: Webcam can’t be found.

Further update. I can confirm that that Mint – Cinnamon – 1.0 – 1.2 & 1.3 all respond the same way and can now find the external Webcam, and, can see the internal camera but can’t make it operate. Here is a screenshot of what the program “System Profiler and Benchmark” shows. The red arrows and writ...
