I'm going to give the blog post a try and see what happens. And what's sad? That Virtualbox-fuse is no longer a thing?

Re: Mounting VDI Files???

Hi Divine_Serpent, Normally you would create a new virtual machine and when you get to the screen about creating a new hard drive just tell it to use an existing one and navigate to the .vdi file. and continue to create the machine. good luck. I have always just attached the vdi to my Windows 7 VM ...

Re: 32 bit vs 64 bit

All my hardware has been upgraded to 64 bit CPUs and the only time I use 32 bit software is on 32 bit operating system in various virtual machines. I do not intentionally try to use 64 bit software, but that just seems to be the way its worked out across my computational needs.

Mounting VDI Files???

Hello all.

So, I recently discovered virtualbox-fuse, and then discovered that only Virtualbox 4.2 supports it. This raised a good question though, how can I mount a .vdi WITHOUT CONVERTING IT to another raw image or file? Is this possible? Can a .vdi be mounted as a filesystem in userspace (FUSE)?

I'm not OP, but I was curious as to what you'e terminal command does, and this is what I got:

Code: Select all

ls: cannot access '/home/USER/.config/linuxmint': No such file or directory

How can I go back to Jack1 from Jack2?

Hello everybody. How can I revert back to Jack1 without causing problems? For reasons I do not know yet, wineasio does not install inside my PlayOnLinux virtual drive with Jack2 installed. I want to revert to Jack1 to continue debugging whatever is wrong. I am using Jack2 from KXStudio repositories,...

PlayOnLinux Can't Install Project64 (File Mismatch)

So, I tried installing Project64 on PlayOnLinux since I really do not like Mupen64Plus, and I was met with this --> http://i.imgur.com/zBrLKIq.png Its clearly downloading the wrong file and causing a mismatch. Its not even downloading the current .exe either. Is there anybody from the POL team here ...

Re: Hostage Escaping Windows...

Welcome! When I first downloaded and installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview a few years ago, my interest in Linux was born. The official release of Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 have all kept that interest VERY alive. I won't lie, Windows 7 continues to work great on multiple PCs for me,...

Any RPCS3 Developers Here?

Just wondering, are there any RPCS3 developers here that are active on the forum? I just discovered the emulator, and I'm absolutely amazed. My concern is that it will do like PCSX2 did and focus on Windows too heavily. Does the project have developers who are focused on Linux and who are also activ...

I can't even remember the last time I had a real virus or a piece of malware that actually caused me a headache. I remember the "I Love You" email back in the XP day's, and that's about it.

Just wondering, what command did you use to display that information (I'm still rather new here)? Go into the terminal and type in inxi -Fxz press enter then copy and paste to your message then use the code button to fit it into the box. Highly recommend these. https://linuxjourney.com/ https://sit...

I love taking "junk" home, installing some kind of Linux on it, and breathing new life into stuff. I didn't go with Linux until about a month ago, but I have had several ole' junkers I played with while exploring Linux. My next junker project will be making a lightweight local webserver.
