I suppose AMDGPU is still useless for APUs, right? Anyways, I just want to revive an "old" laptop with an A10-4600M APU, and unless open source drivers have miraculously improved, Mint 17.3+fglrx is still the best option.

I just had to install the necessary drivers from driver manager. Or maybe I didn't use the Nvidia graphics card enabled login enough, maybe. I use intel mode mos...

I can confirm personally that Linux Mint 18.3 works perfectly for my primus laptop, btw.

Re: ASUS Laptop Intel+Nvidia finally success with kernel 4.9.6

I installed nvidia-378 through the ppa, not the Nvidia download. There may be your problem. Try the one from graphics driver: https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa Thanks, I have now tried the 378 drivers through that PPA, but they didn't work. Also, Steam stopped working. I h...

Re: ASUS Laptop Intel+Nvidia finally success with kernel 4.9.6

For completeness, the Nvidia driver is 378, installed through the graphics-driver ppa. Intel driver not touched, default install. Driver settings/corresponding icon appear in the taskbar, either Intel or Nvidia and can be switched through Nvidia Settings (Prime), log out/in, done. I did the same up...
