How to autorun snap app? (and use snap in general) <SOLVED>

Recently I need to use Snapd package and did wonder, how to make it autorun without using terminal
Any way to make launcher/shortcut?
Or make it autostart on boot?
I've installed snapd and app, how to uninstall applications using snap and snapd itself once I don't need it?

Re: S/PDIF (optical) sound (light?) turns off after 6.5s of silence

EDIT: it's awkward to admit, but it seem to work now, all of the sudden for no reason, will update after some time if fix is permanent or not some freak accident

Thank you for reply!

Re: S/PDIF (optical) sound (light?) turns off after 6.5s of silence

Where should I report that issue?
I checked personally, and indeed, light is switched off after 6.5s of silence, turning it on later (it lit up instantly, but amplifier needs few seconds to make any sense of it) causes first few seconds of song/video to be missing after only short period of silence

<SOLVED> S/PDIF (optical) sound (light?) turns off after 6.5s of silence

I use TOSLINK to connect my amplifier with PC. After updating from 19.1 to 19.2 (cinnamon) And switching to kernel 5.0.0-25-generic from 4.15.0-58 I noticed audio problem If no sound is played for 6.5s I assume optical port gets turned off (audible sound in speakers) Using TOSLINK integrated with mo...

Re: Checksum request within file properties

It'd be nice to have it as an option by default. @gm10 Installed available nemo tool, generated hash to Mint 32 ISO downloaded using torrent, it generated wrong hash, while right click SHA256 on file generated proper value. Conclusion is: plugin doesn't work properly, we should have existing built-i...

Add fourth view mode within Nemo

I'd like to suggest fourth view mode, gallery mode. As person with many folders containing photos, I'd like to set up mode to display just icons, tightly packed one next to another, without any text (maybe just after hovering with cursor over particular image). It would greatly ease browsing trough ...

Nemo icon spacing customizable in every folder

I like that option on the desktop, but missing it in other folders. I'd love to have some control over how spaced files are, as for now, in my opinion they are too far apart. And it may be just me, I'd like to have an option to set it up to the way I like, in similar fashion like in desktop screen i...

Checksum request within file properties

It would be nice to just right click on file properties, and be able to request to calculate checksum of most popular types like: MD5, SHA1, SHA256, CRC32.
Just right click on requested checksum and get the string to compare with.

MAJOR HDD cleaning - duplicates and comparator program tips and requests

So I've been hoarding files for 15+ years at this point. From movies trough music to images... lots and lots of images. And trough time I've had some backup making and hard drive failures, so I also have there gigabytes upon gigabytes of duplicates, BUT not identical duplicates, because other had so...

Re: Just got myself first AMD Radeon here... few questions.

Little update from what I've seen stock kernel drivers are good enough, mesa, amdgpu-pro are not worth testing since they give almost no advantage or works even worse. Question is: are stock kernel drivers allowing vulcan as of yet? tried to run DOTA2 on vulcan but didn't want to run And how do chec...

Just got myself first AMD Radeon here... few questions.

I previously have GTX 470, uninstalled all nvidia drivers and tools, then swapped cards. My new 480 works out of the box, but I see no GUI interface to have any information about graphic card, does it work with my freesunc monitor now? at what speed it's connected now? what are temps, what drivers s...

Re: Questions about AMD card and free sync monitor, drivers GUI and all of that

@rene
This is why I'm saking for modern experiences, not recycled stereotypes.
Upgrading that I have now will cost me 800$ for AMD option, while nvidia equivalent will set me back 1350$
Hefty price for stereotype if you ask me.

Questions about AMD card and free sync monitor, drivers GUI and all of that

What is the status of AMD drivers and freesync on linux these days? I'm planning to upgrade myself from nvidia card (mostly because of their scummy practices and premium pricing of monitors) AOC AG271QX Radeon RX 580 Does freesync work on linux? How easy is to overclock/underclock/undervolt card? Is...

System sometimes forgets to boot programs

Is it just me or linux, from time to time casually forgets to start one of the programs on boot? Today was skype, but I've had times where window navigation elements didn't load or task bar. I noticed this issue for very long time across many linux distributions, why it's happening and is there some...

Updating from 18.1 to 18.3 - does drivers stay in?

Because I see no solution to the problem https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=268046 I start to consider system update to 18.3, however my problem might follow after me, so I have question, is update to new version cause system to reinstall drivers or most of the stuff? If don't how to ...
