Yes, the radio button is on!
Weird thing is, I can't select PC as a source from the list on the menu of the Samsung monitor itself.

Re: Setting up an external monitor on a netbook
Unluckily I tried that but no luck
I should specify that the monitor config utility doesn't recognize the monitor as a Samsung, it just says "unknown monitor". Anything setting I should mess with? Like xorg.conf?

Setting up an external monitor on a netbook
I'm using LM10 on a Samsung N210 netbook and I'd like to hook the system on a Samsung T200HD monitor. I connect the two through a VGA cable and the external monitor is recognized by grandr. However, the monitor itself stays blank and keeps saying "no input". I have the feeling I'm missing ...

Re: Dual Boot - Linux Mint and Windows 7
Oh, don't worry about that, I've been a happy Linux Mint-only user for more than a year and I have no intention of ever going back! :) I just wanted to try out Win7 as there's a slight chance that I might need Windows for work. I think I'll just dual boot XP and a pre-grub 2 distro on my oldish lapt...

Re: Dual Boot - Linux Mint and Windows 7
Thank you for your answers, both of you! It's weird, though. I've installed Mint after Windows many times and it's never touched the Windows partition(s) at all. That's why I refused to believe my windows partition had gone, but it looks like it did after all :? I fixed mbr via Live USB but now I ju...

Re: Dual Boot - Linux Mint and Windows 7
Sorry if I keep posting - just thought it might help someone with the same issues: Apparently it is a bootloader problem - I solved the "can't boot into LM" problem by fixing the grub (much quicker than re-installing the entire OS, I guess  ) but I'm still trying to find a way to fix...

Re: Dual Boot - Linux Mint and Windows 7
Thanks for the reply! I did instruct LM to install itself alongside Windows, and I still see Windows as an option on the grub screen and on gparted when I re-install LM, shouldn't that mean that the system still exists? :? I can't access the Recovery system (the key should be F4, but nothing happens...

Re: Dual Boot - Linux Mint and Windows 7
I need some help, I hope this is the right thread! I just got a Samsung N210 with Windows 7 preinstalled. Obviously the first thing I did was to install Mint on it - but instead of wiping the hard drive clean as I usually do I decided to try dualbooting, choosing the automatic partitioning. Now, Min...

Re: Mint burns laptops, please don't leave it to another distr
Mint actually fixed my overheating problem. In my last weeks with XP, it had got to the point that my Dell Inspiron 6400 would shut down at least once or twice a day. It was so annoying that I switched to Linux - and never had that problem again
