Re: wifi problems with sonya

In terminal check uname -r if your kernel is lower than 4.11, do sudo apt-get install build-essential dkms git git clone -b 4.10-down https://github.com/jeremyb31/rtl8723de.git sudo dkms add ./rtl8723de sudo dkms install rtl8723de/5.1.1.8_21285.20171026_COEX20170111-1414 Then reboot If you have ker...

Re: Unattended-upgrades not installing kernel updates

The important point is: How do you do this. If you deploy a bunch of updates in one step and anything breaks afterwards: How will you tell, which update gave the problem. Actually you cannot; with some luck you can perhaps make a valid guess, that is all. So the point is not, if you apply all of th...

Re: Unattended-upgrades not installing kernel updates

Hi Karl, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Ok so it seems like this isn't going to be particularly trivial to sort out. I have already done a fair bit of forum trawling without finding what I needed. The vast majority would get shivers down their spine if unattended-upgrades were enabled on their...

Re: Unattended-upgrades not installing kernel updates

Is no-one able to help with this...? Really would be appreciated and seems like there must be a way! It is literally installing everything fine apart from the kernel updates. I'm thinking its probably just a case of adding some extra specification line(s) where it says: "linuxmint:sylvia" "Ubuntu:xe...

Unattended-upgrades not installing kernel updates

Hello, firstly sorry if I am in some way duplicating but I did trawl through trying to find an answer to this to no avail. Yes and I also know use of this package is a little 'controversial' in some quarters :D Anyway, apologising out of the way...I can't get the package 'unattended-upgrades' to ins...

Re: Thank you to those supporting others here!

Just in addition to all the people offering support I want to say thanks to everyone who contributes to the Linux project, be it developers or anything else. I switched from the dirty world of Windows earlier this year and just get happier with Linux all the time. And its free!! Which is phenomenal ...

Re: Expressvpn autoconnect issues

Thanks very much for your help mate. Realised about the startup applications after I posted so was a bit stupid really. Thanks for that tip about the network manager though, looking on the ExpressVPN site it seems you can basically configure an OpenVPN set-up to be ExpressVPN which means you get an ...

[SOLVED] Expressvpn autoconnect issues

Hello, I have recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 64-bit v18 and installed ExpressVPN via GDebi package installer from the ExpressVPN webpage in Firefox. I have been using the terminal and have connected successfully. I have also enabled autoconnect but when I shut down and reboot it never connec...
