...see if your BIOS has a setting to change the touchpad from Advanced to Basic.

Thunar's display is barely useful and borderline misleading in my opinion. The size at the bottom only enumerates files in that folder - not any sub-folders and their contents. Expect quite a bit of manual fiddling & breakage (you've been warned),

...try going into your BIOS, check if 'PowerNow' exists / is enabled, and if yes, set if to disabled.
