...even cooler / extra interesting, is that besides core kernel driver support above, some days later on,
the very same AMD dev, was also kind enough to further add in advance the required pci ids for lm-sensors support.

...fbcon=nodefer video=efifb:nobgrt hides the silly logo on my Lenovo laptop during the whole booting process.
You'll likely have to experiment a bit with those two, plus removing quiet splash to achieve what you want there.

Ah, nice, that's a very handy tip. You actually got me perplexed for a few mins (how yad is / could be related to such?). Simply turned out that yad-icon-browser is...not included in the package from the ancient xenial repos (although it's man page does mention it's existence...so yeah, go figure!)....
