Re: Random scroll issues
The scrolling issue has not come up again, however, about once or twice a day, Cinnamon freezes for no apparent reason. I think it might be related to this since Cinnamon instantly unfreezes the moment I remove the Unifying receiver and put it back in. Since this is on my private notebook, it might ...

Re: Random scroll issues
Hi antikythera, Thank you for the suggestion. My problem is not that I need to change sensitivity of my scrolling. Intentional scrolling works as expected. There simply appeared to be scrolling actions in certain places, where I was not actually scrolling at all. The problem went away by changing US...

Re: Random scroll issues
No, they are all USB3 on the notebook itself (where I have the Unifying receiver).

Re: Random scroll issues
Open Users & Groups and create a new account for testing. Reboot and log into the new account. How does it appear there? Hi Cosmo, thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, after creating a new user, rebooting, and logging in as that user, the behaviour was exactly the same. When I opened F...

Random scroll issues
Hi, I set up Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon from scratch (only copying over a number of configuration files like fstab, crypttab) and personal files until now. I have also configured some panels for external monitors etc. While I was setting up the Cinnamon desktop panels and configuring the applets I notic...

[Solved] How can I get the classical panel layout back?
Hello, Is there any way to get the classical panel layout back? I set up Linux Mint 19.1 on my main machine and I'm quite unhappy with the new panel layout. While setting up another computer with the same version of Linux Mint, I stumbled across an option to use the classical panel layout in the &qu...

Re: [Solved by workaround] Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
Hey guys, I have great news. I updated the Nvidia drivers to version 390.12 using Linux Mint's Driver Manager and the problems have pretty much disappeared. Here's what I did: Menu > Driver Manager > Enter Password > Select nvidia-390 > Apply Changes > Wait for it to finish (takes a while) > Reboot ...

Re: [Solved by workaround] Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
The issue is that the system will randomly and periodically stop displaying and go to the flickering that the OP mentioned. Sometimes this is a result of the screen-saver satrting but other times it just happens if the system sits idle too long. I'll come back to a blank screen laptop fan running f...

Re: Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
Hi ccc2lu, Not really. The screens always act up when I change the configuration or if i connect/disconnect one of them. I ended up using a workaround, however, that seems to work reasonably well for my everyday use. Setup: [Samsung Monitor with DP (Primary)] ---- [Samsung Monitor with HDMI] ---- [N...

Re: Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
I assume you want the 3 displays in an extended desktop and not in mirror mode. Open the monitors.xml file and add <clone>no</clone> below the second line that says <configuration> : Log out and back in. The current monitors.xml does not mirror the screens but I'll add the line anyway. If that does...

Re: Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
The current saved configuration in the monitors.xml file shows the 3 displays are cloned. Open the File Manager and go to /home/your-user-name/.config and remove that file. Then open Preferences > Display and move output eDP-1-1 to the left, followed by DP-3.1 and DP-3.2 Set the resolution of eDP-1...

Re: Problems with External monitors on Lenovo notebook with dockingstation
Thanks for replying to my post! :-) Before this setup I had the same setup but with an HP 8460p (and dockingstation) running LM 17.3. There, everything worked like a charm and I could arrange the monitors over the 'Diplay' settings window. I'm seeing more monitor detection and configuration problems...

[Solved] Problems with External monitors on Lenovo P50 notebook with dockingstation
Hello, When I'm at home, I put my Lenovo notebook on a docking station with two external monitors attached. But I can't get the monitors to work the way I would like them to. Whenever I change the monitor settings, all the displays start to flicker (and continue to flicker until I restart). During t...
