Re: Mint installed on acer chromebook 11 n7 stuck in live session mode

Once you install mint, at the completion it will ask you to reboot, it should also tell you to remove the usb and press enter to continue. If it's starting back in live session then have you removed the bootable usb stick?

Re: Cannot boot LM19.3x64 after May 8, 2020 system update

There are 3 desktop themes for Mint they are as follows..
Cinnamon
Mate
Xfce
Cinnamon is very resource hungry, Xfce as I stated is the less resource hungry and is more suited to users with lower specs.

Re: getting Thunderbird to always open to inbox

Hi Karl, I realize that, but the OP wanted thunderbird to open, but not to retrieve emails automatically, if I'm reading it correctly. You used to be able to have that option in thunderbird to open and not automatically retrieve emails, but as the versions have progressed they have done away with th...

Re: getting Thunderbird to always open to inbox

Thunderbird remembers the folder you were in when you closed it down. When you open it again it will start in that folder. Just click on Inbox and close thunderbird down, then reopen and it will open in Inbox.

Re: Can't install Mint on my brand new SSD

Why did you let windows make partitions on the drive for?
Disconnect all the hd's except for the new one. Boot into your bios and check to see if the drive is detected there. If it is then, boot into the live session and start gparted and see if the drive is recognised.

Re: Cannot boot LM19.3x64 after May 8, 2020 system update

Looking at your machine specs, it's an old system using 2mg ddr2 ram. I don't know what version of mint 19.3 you are using, but with those bare minimum specs I'd switch back to 18.3 Xfce or mint 19.3 Xfce. How often did you have timeshift do a snap shot of your system? Where was it saved to? Install...
