Re: how to start program maximized SOLVED

I GOT IT!! I found this list http://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/ and it shows "-start-maximized" as a parameter. Put it in the Opera launcher and bingo. Opera now opens maximized with this command in the launcher: opera %U --start-maximized :D  :D  :D :mrgr...

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

What i like about it is that it comes out of the box with many installed programs which are very useful (windows does the contrary).
A few updates and configurations after the installation and is already usable. With windows i was wasting a full day. :(

Re: weird problems - no restart button, usb ports not working, mint won't shut down

Since the problem began with changes regarding permissions, it makes no sense to assume that another kernel would fix the problem. Can you make a new user account with sudo rights, and see how things are when you are logged in as that user? It does for me. I had many issues and changing the kernel ...

Re: Lightweight distros for old computers

Is Lubuntu the most lightweight system available? I'm not able to test it since i don't have the time.
My laptop is a bit old and since i don't play any video games anymore, i'm planning to use my laptop for a very long time. :D

Re: Hacked? Microsoft Says Blame the Government

Technology got so sophisticated these days, that even a remote control can have some spyware or gps tracking (is useless to speak about computers, laptops, smartphones and tvs). One thing is for sure, powerful people can't be trusted (and big companies too).

For example, Libre office or wine or vlc player. Are they working the same or even better? Have the same level of security or stability?

[SOLVED] Terminal

Is it possible to implement ctrl-c and ctrl-v as commands in terminal? Right clicking is not fast enough and is out of hand.

Always the latest, 45, 64 bits. I have added opera in the PPAs even.
It's not a huge deal, just that it's an annoying click.

Try to look on the radeon website for the latest driver that has linux support. I did that with nvidia and works great.
