Cinnamon not working for installs

This is why you can't have good things. I worked in Unix in the early 1990s. It was line oriented and only programmers could use it well. It's 25 years later and slapping a basic UI on top of a command line OS doesn't make it usable to non-programmers. I shouldn't have to relearn what I've thankfull...

Re: Mono won't start KeePass from my flash drive

KP is now on 2.36. What works in 2.02 isn't relevant. In addition, I'm trying it on flash because the install didn't work.

I don't know about Wine. Saw a reference to Mono on the KP site and there's a menu item for Mono in Mint. I'll look up Wine and give it a try.

Re: Mono won't start KeePass from my flash drive

X seems to have a very old version. XC seems a little more current, but why should I try a different KP when the original works well on another platform? I might test it, but if Mint folks don't have any suggestions, I'll see if the KP folks know anything. Just figured it was Mint problem because of...

Mono won't start KeePass from my flash drive

I converted an ancient laptop to Mint for basic browser things. That means I want to run my KeePass portable from my flashdrive. It's supposed to start up in Mono. At least that's the claim. When look at the exe, it shows as a Windows app and the startup defaults to Mono. I can quickly see a window ...

Thinkpad r60e, wireless dying and can't see how to reconnect

I finally gave up the XP ghost this weekend and re-imaged with Mint/Cinnamon. I just use it for tv/music, so I'm not looking for much. Install went smoothly and I could reach the internet through the wireless network without problem. However, each morning, wireless shows connected but there's no con...

Re: Linux Mint on USB

Tom, you seem to miss the point Matt asked, and I have the same question. My ancient Thinkpad latop has reached XP end-of-life, so I'm interested in installing Mint from my USB drive. The downloaded iso forces you to create a CD for the actual install, it doesn't install directly from the USB drive...
