Going to the next page without skipping text lines?

Hi :) When scrolling by clicking the space bar or page down I have a problem. I makes a little bit more than one page so I miss one or more lines each time and need to manually go up a line or more each page. This happens e.g. in Chrome and in Okular, not in Libre Writer. What I would like to change...

Thank you, xenopeek.

[SOLVED] How to find field entries in a column in 1.ods which are not in 2.ods?

Hi :-)

I want to find out the email addresses in a file which are not in a specific other file (csv, ods, odt, one of these would be enough for me as I can convert them easily).

Blessings, Klaus

Hi :-)
I formatted on my Linux 18.3 but when I try to copy something thereto I get a No Permission error. Why? What to do?

Re: Secure File Delete Program with an Interface - Wipe, erase

Thank you. What I have found out (also by your answers) and tested partly. Secure delete – erase – wipe for files and folders This does not work for SDDs, flash drives, flash sticks, as their disk management stores the file in places which can not be addressed by other tools directly. Solid state ha...

I researched, tested and found a solution which works for me for Linux, Windows and Android. Re: Is the integrated Backup tool in LM 18.3 for the home folder also working for an encrypted home folder?

It is not interesting for me anymore as I will not use it. It makes zipped files. No incremental backup possible.
I use luckybackup now (rsync), working fine.

I think or hope it did the job anyway.
The refreshing of the screen took some time. It would be important to wait before launching another action.

It looks like the command did not to do anything - which in fact was my luck as I have learned it is not good to do what I intended. Thanks to God.

Re: Is there any file in the home folder needed to be executable?

There is probably a very sophisticated way of determining which file should have the execute bit and which one should not but I am not a sophisticated person. So if I found myself in a situation where I mistakenly did a recursive octal chmod and everything ended up executable I would probably resor...

Re: Is Chmod -R a-x+rwX,go-w /home/myhomefolder OK? Still running?

Inside documents only files like pdf, odt, jpg - no hidden files.
So why would there be any problem with a recursive command inside documents, or pictures ...?

OK, I need to get back to work, I feel that some answers are missing on some questions I asked. Instead you are laughing. :-(

And a new one:
Would it be secure to use inside Documents, Pictures ...?

Re: [SOLVED] Changing permission for enclosed files?

You shouldn't be doing anything recursively to the permissions of your home folder. I have done already unfortunately with chmod -R a-x+X /home/myhomefolder Should I better replace it with a backup now? Or what else to do? I had made a backup with Luckybackup with the following task properties set ...

I have read somewhere that chmod does not affect hidden files ... are there other files in the home folder which must be executable?

[SOLVED] Is there any file in the home folder needed to be executable?

chmod -R a-x+X /path/to/folder
Is this secure to do also with the whole home folder including .cache, .config ... or does any of the files in there need to be executable?

Oh, I have recherched quite a lot before it. But I am not an expert at all. Does not the "+X" will add it back for folders?

Oh! Thank you ... considering you're stripping execute permissions from all files you'll probably break a lot of things, so good luck with whatever you're trying to achieve. hope you got a backup. ;) Really - what do you mean, this is my home folder only ... ? ps -ef | grep chmod kl 4407 4385 0 16:3...
