Re: Mint 13 [UNANSWERED]

Hi Turtle One question that hasn't been asked how is your hard disk Have you just partitioned with just / and swap partitions? Or did you include a separate partitionon for /Home? Surely, if it is the latter, you should be able to install at least v18, keeping his current Home partition intact. Or i...

Re: Font identiy...

No, I think it was the choice of the Secretary of the Club, who held that position for about 30 years.Who knows, over time, I they may be open to a change in design. Any ideas of a good font to use for a letterhead? Recommending a change in design can lead to hurt feelings if the person who designe...

Re: Font identiy...

Moem is correct, the second sample is Comic Sans. It is a shame the Association selected two of the worst fonts to use. It is a bigger shame the Association is set on using them - it screams the logo, letterhead, menu, whatever was not created by a graphic artist or designer. No, I think it was the...

Nope! I didn't recognise it. I have to confess, though, that now you have pointed it out, I dimly remember in a previous life (when I wasn't ancient :) ) I had used for something.

Re: Font identiy...

Thank you for your suggestions but, unfortunately, the Association decided upon the font many years ago and will not change :(

The other font used in the letterhead is also unknown to me. Are you able to identify it, please?

Re: Logo to improve

I still consider the design submitted by troken way back is the most attractive logo I've seen for Linux Mint.

brother MFC-J5730 not working on Mint...

Using Linux Mint v 18.2 Mate A couple of weeks ago, while still using Sparky Linux, I bought a MFC-J5730 printer and downloaded the drivers from the Brother website. Installation was done, using pjotr's excellent instructions. The printer and scanner worked without problems. When I returned to Mint,...

Re: Update-grub not honoured...

Thank you both austin.texas and Mute Ant for your prompt response. When I read your post Mute Ant my solitary brain cell lit up  I'd gone to /etc/grub.d and opened it and found nothing familiar. So, did a search and found /usr/share/grub/Default/grub and mistakenly thought I was in the right pl...
