Re: VPN

Some good options and tips here, especially with disabling ipv6 for torrent use. I found myself having DNS leaks on some providers in the past as well, and I was less prone to properly verifying on linux because I just thought it worked better. I suggest using OpenVPN or SoftEther over any clients w...

Re: Need to get this off my chest..

Everything said here sparked many nostalgic memories from all the way back to over two decades ago now. As I look at it now, I always was and still am a Linux user wanna be. I'm posting this from my windows machine  - but for me it was about the experience, being a little younger, I missed out...

Re: which desktop environment should I choose? cinnamon or mate? thanks

Many of the more experienced people here will recommend that you not install two desktop environments in one install. Some people have done that and got away with it, others trashed their whole system and had to reinstall. If you want to try out several desktops, boot them from the Live DVD/USB and...

Re: VPN connection only works once

This doesn't help much either, but I reinstalled 17.1 after facing the same never ending problem. Same thing here as far as finding a real solution.

Mint has been difficult to get working for all my needs but I love it anyways!

Re: Xbox One controller detected but doesn't work

Hi Ennai

I have had same issue before and I believe it was on this same forum that I saw a thread suggesting to use an alternative driver:

https://github.com/paroj/xpad

this fix worked for me on 17

EDIT: Found the previous thread I read - viewtopic.php?t=220940

Re: VPN Settings Disappear from Network Connections

Same issue on 17 as well. I haven't been able to find any threads specific to this issue. Many of them talk about being unable to save "save button greyed out" or issues with passwords not being saved due to keyring daemon.. but no solutions for the saved connections to vanish. In my case they might...
