Missing Print Filter for Epson XP-235

Hi Linux Mint Forums, I used to manage to have mu EPSON Printer working, thanks to this topic : https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=244980 But recently, for some reason, it stopped working, with the error "Missing Print Filter for Epson XP-235". I went to general forums, and I found so...

Re: Stuck in "Welcome to Emergency mode"

Thanks guys, I think I've found the cure:
I randomly had a Linux in a USB stick, so I could boot in it and access to useful tools.

First I had to unmount my /home partition, sda3.

Code: Select all

sudo umount /dev/sda3
Then, fsck will diagnose and repair:

Code: Select all

sudo fsck /dev/sda3
Regards.

Re: <SOLVED> Linux Mint long boot time (~3 minutes)

Hi gold_finger. Thanks again for your answers. What improved my boot time was when I replaced the UUID I found in fstab that didn't match the one I found with the command blkid. I did not comment the swap line. I did create /home partition after the first installation, so maybe Mint doesnt see this ...

[SOLVED] Is my /home partition my actual home?

Hi. I first install Linux Mint without having concerns about partition, but after successfully installing it and starting having documents, I resized partitions and create a /home. But I'm not sure if my documents were move to this partition and if it actually seen by the system. The command: sudo b...

Re: <SOLVED> Linux Mint long boot time (~3 minutes)

Thank you gold_finger, I think it worked.

FYI: I have a /home partition in the blkid that doesn't appear in the fstab list... I suppose it doesn't matter as my boot time has been seriously reduced.

Re: <SOLVED> Linux Mint long boot time (~3 minutes)

Hi. I have the same problem, and I'm happy to see it has been solved :) . But I don't understand the solution: Read somewhere that after a partition resize (which I have done several times in the past) the UUID for a partition was changed and to update fstab with any corrections from the UUIDs liste...

Re: Update Manager and `uname -r` disagree on Kernel version

Thanks Pjotr :) .
That sounds a little messy, even harmless... is there a way to clean this so my update manager is up to date?

Update Manager and `uname -r` disagree on Kernel version

Hi! I think there is a disagreement between the command uname -r that returns : 4.8.0-51-generic (and I'm pretty sure he's right) and the graphic program Update Manager who says I have 4.4.0-53.74 and suggests me to go to 4.4.0-77.98 . Am I sure that the command line is right? How can I make Update ...

Re: Install Epson XP-235, Scanner not found

Thanks for you quick answer. I tried with the imagescan-bundle-linuxmint-18-1.3.20.x64.deb . Isn't it supposed to work? I have Mint 18. EDIT: It did work with the linuxmint version, after I followed pdc_2's advice by installing it in command line (I first tried with double clicking on the .sh file)....

Re: Install Epson XP-235 WiFi Printer/Scanner

I'll answer to myself as I reach a first step: Installing the Printer, working via USB. 1. Here http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/ download the right driver. 2. Install LSB package. sudo apt-get install lsb . 3. Install driver package, replace DRIVER_PACKAGE by the real name. sudo d...

[SOLVED] Install Epson XP-235 (Printer, Scanner, WiFi)

Hi! I would like to install a WiFi printer/scanner, Epson XP-235. I went online, and I found many topics about it, also people managing how to do it and having problems with scanner, but I didn't find how to actually do it, from scratch as a newbie. I'm also not sure whether these topics confirm the...

Re: Linux Mint won't boot

But nothing happens. I'v tried what is described in the above link : Pressing Shift and accessing to a menu, pressing E and replacing (again) "quiet splash" with "nomodeset"... and I still have a black screen. Can you see a menu or anything other than an empty screen? Nothing, just black screen wit...
