Re: Dual boot problems with Windows 10/ Mint 18.1

Hi shamrock666, I've been trying to set up a dual boot similar to my old computer and unable to have grub2 be my primary boot loader. I've installed Mint twice now and got different results. . I'm a newbie (started about two weeks ago) and I had similar problems until I used EasyBCD on Windows 10 to...

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

So, if I am reading you this is definitely an issue with Windows doing its dance of inconvenience, and your machine behaves itself when running LMDE. Okay, that's cool. If it isn't obvious, I'm more of a hardware-oriented troubleshooter. Hi Dngrsone, Thanks for the interest. :) Yeah for now I'd go ...

Re: VPN

The paid version has many more servers to connect to. I like it. I hope you will too. I sit corrected :) ... yahoo mail ...

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

Welcome to the site, willim. Your machine rebooted itself for no reason while in LMDE? How often does this happen? Are you using it at the time or does it happen when you are not looking? I am wondering if perhaps you have a hardware issue that is causing your problem. Hi Dngrsome Thanks for the re...

Re: Facebook Fans

I mentioned Linux Mint a while back on Facebook (I haven't been on there much lately) and had a comment from a mate who, it turns out, is also using Mint. I think I also mentioned thes Forum. Another friend (not on FB) also knew of Linux Mint already when I mentioned it and is quite keen on install...

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

Hi, For 25+ years my home PC's have all been running MS-DOS or Windows operating systems and currently, Vista and both Windows 10 Pro & Home editions. I have become totally browned off with Windows 10 rebooting  without warning. This is my primary reason for the addition of GNU L...

Re: Do you use LibreOffice?

Hi I'm a newbie within the last few days on LMDE the version supplied is Libre Office 4.3.3.2 Build ID: 430m0(Build:2) It was short of Latin fonts but Ttf-mscorefonts-installer added some more with # sudo fc-cache -fv - as an insurance policy. On Windows I have been using OpenOffice, a brothe...
