Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
I haven't used Mint in years. I have nothing against it (what's not to like?) but I've moved on. I've been using MX Linux as my main OS for quite some time. I think it was back around MX-15 or 16. It just keeps getting better and better. I've found nothing to compare with it from my viewpoint. It's...

Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
I tried using MX Linux off of thumb drive about a year ago. Tried to follow directions but was confusing. Couldn't make it persistent on the the (32GIG) thumb drive at all. Other than that it was OK to use. Haven't tried it since. If directions get easier to follow, then I may try it again someday....

Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
Okay, after mostly using MX for 5 months I am really happy with it. Upgraded to MX19 last night and lost my sexy KDE desktop, which turned out to be a good thing. I found out I can use Cinnamon with MX and 19 fixed my printer driver issue. Mint still has a bluetooth issue where bluetooth won't see m...

Re: I need help with LARGEADDRESSAWARENESS....I think
Thanks guys!!
It appears to have been an issue with an older install of adb(I think). As I was working through the issue the phone came back to life and I never had to test the new install I did.

Howdy, Hope I am posting in the correct spot. I am hacking( well, hacking, bricking, hopefully unbricking my phone ) and have run into a problem with adb sideload not being able to read the android image I need to install because it is too big. From the searching I have done I think it is because th...

Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
After a month of mostly MX I have decided I like the way everything pretty much works without tweaking. I love the speed over Mint. I like the variety of software. So far I haven't run into anything that only has a tar.gz file for an install. I do miss how pretty and finished Mint looks. So, for now...

Re: Firefox settings
I found a solution that seems to be working. 1st off I noticed in the prefs.js file(after I opened it) the very top says any changes to this file while firefox is open will be overwritten when ff closes, or something like that. I thought that may have been my problem, I was changing the file w ff op...

I need Bluetooth help
Howdy! Bluetooth has me aggravated to no end with 19.1. Prior to the 19.1 upgrade I had no bt issues. After the upgrade I totally lost bt( another post solved ). My current problem is I cannot see my Sherman BT speakers. I have tried all the current fixes I can find. None have worked thus far. I ins...

Re: Firefox settings <SOLVED>
Ok, I installed MX and copied pref.js....that did not work. What has come closest to working was copyiing the entire profile folder into the new profile and deleting compatability.ini. Without deleting that 1 file I got an error and had to either quit or create a new profile for ff to start. After I...

Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
Thanks 151Tom!
I will make a note. One of the things I like most about Mint Cinnamon is how polished and professional it looks. MX looks 10 yrs old, but, so far I like the features I have been able to play around with for a few hours.
I will try Helen Keller just for the name alone!! =P

Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
I created a live USB and holy hell, it is blazing fast compared to Mint on my set up.....i3 w 4g of ram on an Acer all in one. I expect a full install will be even faster. Now, being a somewhat thinking man, I wonder is is because it is a fresh install without all my programs added or just works wel...

Firefox settings transfer [SOLVED]
Howdy, I change a TON of firefox settings in the about:config section to increase privacy and security. Re: Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
Well, I discovered you can install Mint XFCE alongside Cinnamon, so that is what I did. I will play around with it and see which one I like better then maybe play with MX, although I am not far enough into my linux journey to understand why 1 would be better than the other. Thanks for the replies!! ...

Has anyone played around with MX Linux?
Saw the post about distro watch, doesn't really influence my interest, but MX seems to be way easier to navigate and more customizable. Does anyone have MX and Mint? Likes/dislikes for both? Mint sure appears much more polished, but, from my reading, MX seems to operate more smoothly and be an easie...
