Re: Foxclone - linux image backup, restore & clone

Tried earlier but the download just hung; maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to start. Glad to see it's working again. My downloaded foxclone40-02.iso file size is 564MB.

Also, the manual file name is foxcloneV12.pdf, but the PDF page header says V40.

5 freaking backups a day? you didn't once think that was too much.
I'm trying to understand why you think the OP was doing "5 freaking backups a day". I may be wrong, but the way I read his TimeShift schedule, he was doing one backup per day and keeping the 5 most recent backups on his disk.

the fix is the following added to your /etc/samba/samba.conf

CLIENT MAX PROTOCOL = NT1

INSERT THIS RIGHT AFTER WORKGROUP
shouldn't the configuration file be "/etc/samba/smb.conf" (not samba.conf)

Thanks Lord Baltar! My Mint 19 upgrade on an old HP-a1250n computer aborted due to this same error. Your solution worked nicely!

Re: Updating GIMP does not work

How do I know which is the current version? Check the date in the file name. Most AppImages have the version number and creation date in the filename. E.g., gimp-git-2.10.1-20180428.glibc2.15-x86_64.AppImage is version 2.10.1 and was created on March 4, 2018. Where did you get March 4, 2018? Don't ...
