Re: Foxclone - linux image backup, restore & clone

Tried earlier but the download just hung; maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to start. Glad to see it's working again. My downloaded foxclone40-02.iso file size is 564MB.

Also, the manual file name is foxcloneV12.pdf, but the PDF page header says V40.

Re: Cannot reach Linux Mint Forums from Verizon network

1) I'm in Northern Virginia and my ISP is Verizon FiOS. 2) I lost access to forums.linuxmint.com and blog.linuxmint.com on July 2, but could still access linuxmint.com. 3) I thought my IP Address had been blocked for some reason, so yesterday evening (July 7) I decided to install the Tor Browser and...

Re: [Solved] 4.5ubuntu1.1 Kernel Update

The wording "Kernel Update" also made me leery of accepting the update. Thanks for the replies explaining what it is.

shouldn't the configuration file be "/etc/samba/smb.conf" (not samba.conf)

Thanks Lord Baltar! My Mint 19 upgrade on an old HP-a1250n computer aborted due to this same error. Your solution worked nicely!

Which version of Mint are you running? I'm on Mint 18.3 and VLC 2.2.2 is listed in the regular Software Manager.

Re: Updating GIMP does not work

How do I know which is the current version? Check the date in the file name. Most AppImages have the version number and creation date in the filename. E.g., gimp-git-2.10.1-20180428.glibc2.15-x86_64.AppImage is version 2.10.1 and was created on March 4, 2018. Where did you get March 4, 2018? Don't ...
