Mostly likely due to Linux being totally different then what they are used too.
There's an easy fix for that...learn...just like everyone else does.

At least Mint isn't forced down peoples throats like evil Micro$oft does with that crappy Windoze Spyware 10. :D

Re: Nerdy types dismissing Linux Mint.

I don't care who dislikes Mint...nerds or not. I've tried the rest and now I run the best...Mint Cinnamon. :D Some don't know a good thing when they see it...as for Mint being a Linux Distro for Newbies...if that were true then why do so many Newbies have so much trouble. :)

This thread might help... https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=264079&p=1432223&hilit=installing+virtualbox#p1432223 I've been running Virtualbox for years in Windoze and now in Mint...looks complicated but it's easy once you get the hang of it. Re: Some random thoughts on Mint vs o/s X +Windows 10

That's easy...never used a Mac...never wanted too.

Only tried Windoze Spyware 10 in a VM and it sucked...Windoze 7 was better.

Mint is great...solid as a rock...best OS out there...don't want to run anything else...leaves Mac and Windoze for dead. :D

Re: Boring Mint??

I suppose Mint is a little boring compared to Windoze. Running Windoze 7 you’re constantly scanning for Viruses and Malware...then trying to remove them. Manually updating all Software...Drivers and Web Browsers which takes forever. Removing Bloatware that Windoze constantly adds to the file system....

Re: Updating Programs

The Mint Update Manager updates everything except VirtualBox...you just have to wait. When I first switched to Mint and saw this happening I couldn't believe my eyes...how spoilt are us Linux Mint users. :D

Re: How To Create a System Image With Macrium Reflect Rescue Disk In Linux Mint.

I can only reply as a newbie. I seem to remember being told that either linux or virtual box could see a flash drive but not both at the same time. But i don't know how it gets removed from Linux so that virtual box can see it. VirtualBox has nothing to do with this Tutorial...Macrium sees Physical...

Re: How To Create a System Image With Macrium Reflect Rescue Disk In Linux Mint.

I used my HP Elitebook 2570p and it was successful. Exactly as your tutorial described. I was so happy. I'm glad you had some success...I don't understand why you can't get the same result on your Dell. Does your External HDD mount and open on the Dell ? Sounds like Dell doesn't like the External H...

Re: How To Create a System Image With Macrium Reflect Rescue Disk In Linux Mint.

I followed Bob's instructions to the letter and, yes, Macrium Windows PE did boot up. However, it did not see my external hard drive that I wanted the image saved to. Macrium sees every HDD connected to your System...Internal and External. Step one says...Plug in your External HDD and create a Fold...

Re: Mint 18.3 cinnamon to Zorin OS 12.3

I also tried Zorin some time ago...apart form being buggy...they claimed it looked like Windoze 7...Really? don't think they've seen Win 7. The worst thing for me was the Menu...very confusing and hard to find applications...unlike Mint which is very user friendly and leaves Zorin for Dead in every ...

Re: How To Create a System Image With Macrium Reflect Rescue Disk In Linux Mint.

Thanks for this. I already use MR on Win10 so already have the full up to date product (had to use it the other day as the most recent update trashed my disk s/w wise). I suppose the only thing is you can't set up a schedule. I also assume that creating an image on an NTFS volume is irrelevant beca...
