Re: Video conversion software

This still leaves open the question of why anyone would want to encode to mpeg2 video unless it's for a DVD. It's just awful by today's standards. ANything like h.264 video encoded to mpeg2 will look a lot worse even if the output file is bigger than the input. Totally agree...I don't know why OP w...

Re: Video conversion software

Ah! OK, got it thanks. I have used handbrake many times but always encoding to mkv so had never used that part of the GUI. This comes in very handy at times...https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/introduction/quick-start.html https://www.animoticons.com/files/emotions/happy-smiley-faces/78.gif

And where in those presets does it show mpg2 or mpeg2? It doesn't because it's in...Video Encoder...https://handbrake.fr/features.php Presets have nothing to do with Video...I have my Preset at Fast 1080p30 and Video Encoder..H.264(x264). Re: Video conversion software

....another one you could try is...Handbrake...it does the same as Avidemux but doesn't have as many features. https://www.animoticons.com/files/emotions/positive-smiley-faces/11.gif Well, the OP wants mpeg2 video output for some reason, and Handbrake won't do that. Really...open Handbrake...go to ...

Re: Video conversion software

I wouldn't throw Avidemux at anyone who I thought wasn't beyond a basic Linux understanding. Why...it works the same in both Linux and Windoze...anyway we all have to learn at some time. https://www.animoticons.com/files/emotions/positive-smiley-faces/16.gif OP...another one you could try is...Hand...

Re: Video conversion software

I think OP means...Mpeg4 to Mpeg2. https://www.animoticons.com/files/emotions/thinking-smiley-faces/9.gif I agree, though such a conversion doesn't make sense. The result will either be lower resolution or larger file. The software you're looking for is...Avidemux...which is available from the Soft...

Re: The right decision

I am liking my decision to replace my failing spinning drive with a SSD. I was waffling between a 500GB SSD and a 2TB HDD for the same price. The SSD has breathed some new life into my little old laptop. Load times and the boot time have been reduced significantly. 5yrs warranty is a boon as well. ...

Re: A number of sites are now complaining about firefox, why?

No VPN, but I had user agent switcher installed already and it may have been running as chrome. I'll get back to you guys if that resolved it, I had thought that I had user agent switcher turned off, but it wasn't. Sounds like... User Agent Switcher is the problem. https://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/rtf...
