Re: Windows 10 password through Linux Live USB

Very easy to mount Windoze or Mint HDD with a live Mint Flash Drive/DVD. When you Boot to the live Flash Drive/DVD...plug in another Flash Drive and copy the files to it...easy. :D

Re: Windows 10 spying and data collection can be stopped with Virtual Machine? [SOLVED]

The only way to stop Microsoft spying on you is don't connect your VM to the Internet. Every version of Windoze has spyware and there's nothing you can do to stop it. You can turn off the Telemetry but Microsoft just turns it back on...so that's not an option. There's software that claims to stop sp...

Re: Roll back an update

I have Timeshift installed for this reason...among others and works very well. I create a Restore Point especially for level 4/5 updates...just to be on the safe side. Some time ago there was a kernel update...when I Re-Booted the computer I had no sound or Internet...so I clicked on my Restore Poin...

Re: How can I hide my online activities from my ISP?

Hi Be_Classy and welcome to the Forum. The first thing is to change your DNS...so when you send a request...it doesn't go through your ISP's Server. Use a Proxy or VPN. For general Browsing Mask your IP Address...there are several Add-ons for both Firefox and Google Chrome...or run Opera which has a...

Re: Microsoft and Linux

So stop spreading this FUD. It is not my intention to do this...but Microsoft did join the Linux Foundation and Partnered up with Canonical...these are Facts. One must ask why as it's not to better and improve Linux. We all know what Microsoft does...that's why we run Linux...I think all Linux user...

Microsoft and Linux

The implication that Microsoft is spying on us by means of Ubuntu, is utter nonsense. I did say Ubuntu...not Mint...are you sure it's nonsense...might just be a matter of time. https://www.theverge.com/2016/11/16/13651940/microsoft-linux-foundation-membership https://www.forbes.com/sites/janakiramm...

Re: KDE- mounting a second hard drive for data storage?

O.K. In what way do you see using external drives is superior to internal drives? Didn't say that...I said better because when you Boot to the Desktop...all HDDs connected to the Motherboard start running. Since I don't transfer Files and Data every 5 minutes and sometimes not for days or weeks...h...

You can't turn a 32bit System into a 64bit one...unless you can turn water into wine...so running 64bit software is just impossible.

I just installed Opera 12, which I think is the old one. Then I immediately got a message that Opera 44 was downloading. I want to try the "old" one first. They (whoever "they" are) won't force me to "upgrade," will they? Why would you want to try an old version...you ...

Microsoft and Linux

I have yet to be convinced that linux has more stability and performance than windows, I always return to windows because of disappointment. I switched to Mint because of what this Evil Dictatorship called Microsoft was doing to me because I liked Win 7 and I've never looked back. I now run Cinnamo...

Re: KDE- mounting a second hard drive for data storage?

I don't use Internal storage HDDs anymore but for years in Windoze I did...when External HDDs became available I used them...so much better. I still have the Internal Sata storage HDD with the Data on it...when I switched to Mint I wondered if the Drive would work. I placed the HDD in a drive bay an...

It was my understanding that USB replaced com ports years ago...anyway Op should be running a Win 7 VM.
