Re: How to make a good password

It's better to keep your valuable Files etc on an External HDD and store it somewhere safe. :D I don't really see that as a secure option. What if someone walks away with that external? ... but for Linux all you need is the live DVD. Physical access may provide the ability to bypass the (lack of) s...

Re: Do installing more applications slow down your machine.

I've never noticed any slowing down since switching to Linux and that includes any Distro that I've tried. :D The first thing I noticed the very first time I Booted to the Mint Desktop was I could use it straight away...you can't do that with Windoze  When you Boot to Windoze Desktop and click...

Re: Not enough diskspace allocated at installation.

When I install Mint...I always choose..."Erase Disk and Install Linux Mint". The Mint Installation creates one Partition...Root and it is Dynamic so I never have any problems with Disk space and a 500GB Drive helps too. Image :D :D

No I don't have any misconceptions about SSDs... I beg to differ, I feel that you do. Nonsense :) anyway thread isn't about read/write speeds...manufacturers or warranty...it's about prolonging the life or the SSD by not doing stupid things and there's plenty of people who do stupid things and don'...
