Light theme for Libreoffice, dark theme for everything else
Is there a way to have a light theme for Libreoffice (Adwaita) and a dark theme for everything else (Adwaita-dark)?

Re: Gimp 2.10.x and LM 19.3...
I would rather Mint come with gimp 3.0. The sooner we can get rid of gtk2 apps, the better.

I had the same complaint, but took a different route with the borders.

Re: Desktop settings - Backgrounds
I don't have an answer, but your files should look like this: hob@surf:~$ ls -lh /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/ total 1.4M lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 51 Jul 23 03:27 edesigner_linuxmint.png -> ../../backgrounds/linuxmint/edesigner_linuxmint.png lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 Jul 23 03:27 ktee_linuxmint.png -> ....

Re: Unable to install Anki [SOLVED]
I had to install the following: Anki now works, though it doesn't look well with my dark theme.

I tried using the command line: and then I tried using Software Manager. No luck with either.

sudo apt install anki

Unable to install Anki
I'm getting the following message when I try to run Anki: hob@surf:~$ anki Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/anki", line 6, in <module> import aqt File "/usr/share/anki/aqt/__init__.py", line 4, in <module> from anki import version as _version File "/usr/shar...

Re: Wireless stops working randomly and only works again after hard restart.
I also have an ideapad and the same problem. In my case, the solution is to start the laptop on battery power and then plug it in once fully booted. I believe it to be an emi issue and it may be the same for you.

Re: CD drive unable to write (Solved)
It was a faulty drive, which surprises me because this laptop is pretty new. The hardest part was removing the bevel without breaking the plastic clips, but everything is working fine now.

Re: editing themes
I just started to tweak this theme as well and have been following this guide http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/gnome-edit-theme.html. I'm not sure about the buttons yet, but -GtkRange-slider-width: 13; controls the width of the scroll bar. I'm new at this, so there might be an easier way to do thi...

Re: CD drive unable to write
My CD/DVD drive can read, but can't write. There are times, however, when it can't read and the cd just spins and makes various clicking, R2D2 noises; but that can be fixed by pressing down on it to make sure it's seated right up against the laser scanner. I've tried burning at various speeds trying...

Re: CD drive unable to write
The ISO I'm trying to burn is 380M. Audio and video work fine, but unable to write. I've cleaned the laser lens, tried different CDs, different burning programs. I'm at a loss.

[Solved] CD drive unable to write
I tried burning an ISO image to CD-R using both gksudo k3b and xfburn; both attempts failed. Even though my computer is pretty new, I believe my cd drive is faulty. Before I try to install a new one, I wanted to ask for any assistance/ideas. Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious. inxi -Fxzd: Syste...

Re: No wifi after reboot
WLAN is enabled in BIOS. I normally operate my laptop plugged in (not sure if this is good or bad). I only run on battery if I'm mobile, which isn't too often. What I just discovered is the power plug is somehow interfering with my wireless. If I reboot on battery only, my wireless system operates n...

My wifi disappears after shutdown/reboot (no networks detected). I experienced this same problem with 18.1 xfce.
