Re: youtube flash question

It seems like it may be an extension or add on of some kind. Maybe this?:

Re: Running Mint from USB pendrive, losing settings on reboot

Yes, you can make a persistent usb drive, but that may be a bit much for a newbie. I've never done it, so I'd be a newbie at that myself.

Re: Running Mint from USB pendrive, losing settings on reboot

That's normal, any changes you make to Mint while running from a usb stick won't be saved. Basically, that's a test mode. If everything runs to your liking, you should then install Mint either alone or as dual boot with Windows.

Unless someone has something better, use Timeshift to go back to before you made changes.

I'd reboot & try again. May not matter, but also try

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get autoremove

Re: Linux Mint Xfce won't shut down on the laptop

You might try this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZBTSUbzT0g

If the command there doesn't work, install gedit:

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get install gedit

Maybe use Timeshift to go back to before you made those changes?
Last timeshift update is pretty old, and the main problem was present then - so would it be wise?
Hold off then, someone may have a better way.

Re: Update Error

In Software Sources, click 'Restore the default settings' button. See if that helps any.

Re: Updating after upgrade to 19.2

I got 2 today on Mint 19, I think it was Ghostscript & Poppler. So, perhaps you are ok. You can still click Refresh & it will either give you more updates or say you are up to date.

Re: Updating after upgrade to 19.2

A week seems long. Click Refresh in Update Manager & see if that gets you anything.
