Re: linux-image-5.15.0-67-generic : Depends: ...

I don't have a solution, but this looks like a problem with Virtualbox:

Removing linux-image-5.15.0-67-generic (5.15.0-67.74) ...
/etc/kernel/prerm.d/vboxadd:
run-parts: failed to exec /etc/kernel/prerm.d/vboxadd: Exec format error

Re: "Unable to find device Touchpad" but touchpad is working!

Does that message go away if you type clear in the terminal & hit Enter? Or, maybe reset & Enter?

Re: "Unable to find device Touchpad" but touchpad is working!

Does it make any difference if you disable the touchpad:

Code: Select all

xinput --disable 9
Reboot & touchpad should enable again. If not:

Code: Select all

xinput --enable 9

Strange, because a touchpad does show there: xinput list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ SYNA8017:00 06CB:CEB2 Touchpad id=9 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ SYNA8017:00 06CB:CEB2 Mouse id=10 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ TPPS/2 Synaptics...

Getting into Grub can be a bit tricky, so try Timeshift first. You can restore a Timeshift snapshot using your Mint install media.

Re: Wifi keeps asking for authentification

Probably not a kernel issue then, but wait & see what others have to say.
Meanwhile, you can try reloading the driver:

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi && systemctl restart NetworkManager

Not sure, but you might try a higher kernel if one is available in Update Manager, View, Linux Kernels.
