i would love to steel your avatar if it would stretch out to fit the grub loader screen  Here you go, buddy, this is the full sized wallpaper version that I used to crop out my avatar from. The size is 1024 x 768, excellent for a grub loader background. Enjoy. https://image.ibb.co/mUb9sa/1...

Re: Issues with new Hard Drive after disk utility formatting error

What lanser said. You can do it from the 'hamburger' menu in 'Disks.' If that checks out okay, delete the partitions and recreate them with Gparted. BTW, there is no Gnome version of Mint. not to be off topic but why is it during installation it asks if you would like the new updated version of gno...

Re: can not get wine installed. its in my opt folder. help?

The package management does not use the folder /opt, so must have done something outside the package management. Also the file name indicates, that you have taken a development version, not a stable version. Problems are possible with this. Try to install wine from the software manager. EDIT: I jus...

Re: Un-install? Or impossible?

The best and safest way, and the ONLY WAY that I always do that is this: 1. Use either Acronis Home or DBAN to do a deep delete of your hard drive(s) and/or SSD(s). If OP were planning to sell or discard computer I'd agree with this -- zero out drive or overwrite with random data using DBAN first s...

Re: trying to install wine. the new way. release.key wont add file.!

Hello, rebellyell72. You stated that the commandline wget https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key downloaded the file Release.key to the directory /home/user. Note the capital R in the filename Release.key . For Linux Release.key and release.key are two different filenames. Make sure that you...

Re: amd ryzen and linux no sensor detection..

You could have know this going in if you had read up any Linux reviews of the Ryzen platform (like on Phoronix). Sensors chipsets on Ryzen motherboards have been noted to not yet provide sensors information on Linux. Drivers need to be added to the Linux kernel and that is on the manufacturer of th...

Re: ryzen am4x370 boards no sensor suport?

rebelyell72, Does your motherboard bios have mapping options for fans? I don't use any Linux fan control, and use the fan mapping graphs in my board's bios for all the fans (except GPU). Personal preference I guess, but I like the adjustable graphs--straightforward and once set is done. Some folks ...
