Re: How to ask for a new driver?

Hello Jerry,

It does indeed. No problem with the touch-screen. I have not tested the pen device.

Re: How to ask for a new driver?

Hi again, Sorry for the non complete post. My questions was actually a follow up from this thread I had the hardware section. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=266969 The summary of it goes like this: No driver available yet for my touchpad device. I was therefore wondering if there was a...

How to ask for a new driver? [CLOSED]

Hello.

I have a laptop where no Linux distribution can find the driver for the touchpad. Is there a place where I can ask for this?
The laptop is almost 1 year old.
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Re: Touchpad not working [CLOSED]

A tad more info:

I tried Debian 9.4 and the same erratic behaviour appeared: the touchpad worked for some minutes (no right button though) and then after the first reboot, it stopped.
So patience is the key.

Humble bump. I can't be the only one having that problem. Can someone experienced tell me if there is hope or is it pointless.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: [SOLVED] Touchpad not working

Installing the latest kernel (4.13.0-38-generic x86_64) seems to have partially fixed it. I can't select text, but at least it works. Marked as solved. Wrong.. my touchpad actually worked for some minutes while installing the last kernel. After a reboot, it's not working again. Does that give out s...

Touchpad not working [CLOSED]

:D Hi all, I can't get my touchpad to work on my machine. I believe it is the one with the id=18. I did a few research to try to go further but I reached a dead-end. Can someone help me? inxi -Fxz System: Host: ThinkerI35 Kernel: 4.13.0-37-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 5.4.0) Desktop: Cinnamon 3.6.7 (...

Re: 18.1 cinnamon lagging after some time of use.

An interesting test would be to check if your WIN7 would still lag today with the current heat wave. Nevertheless, if this reading from sensors is correct, you will have to do something about it. My CPU never goes higher than 55°C. The normal working temperature for an I3 2100 is between 50 and 62. ...

Re: new to mint - freezing problem

I should wait for you to post the result of inxi -Fxz , but look exacly like the problem I had with my f***ing Realtek wifi card: RTL8723BE. Windows drivers were fine, but the Linux one were terrible: the Wifi card would go to sleep mode without any notice and would take up to 15 seconds to wake up....

Re: Does Rufus alter the iso?

Hello. I don't think Rufus alters the file. I used it plenty times when I was having corruption problem with my Raspberry Pi. I had to flash my SD card a lot with the same .ISO file and it never failed. The files needed for Rufus to make bootable Linux USB pen are download into your Rufus folder and...

Re: 18.1 cinnamon lagging after some time of use.

Hello. 80°C is quite hot indeed. The most probable cause for this is dust in your machine that prevent your cooling system to properly work. Add this with summer time, and you have a winning combo for time traveling ticket to what computer were 15 years ago: slow. Because your CPU is very hot, your ...

(BUG) (INSTALLER) Format disk in wrong language

Little bug I found while installing LMDE2: During the install of LMDE2, I selected the English language for the install, then went to select (en-US) locale, picked Belgium as my location and keyboard layout. But when I reached the screen for partitioning and format, the language of the program sudde...

Re: Linux Mint Books to Read and Learn

Hello Freddy. I know this book: https://debian-handbook.info/ It's not about Mint, nor really about any particular desktop environment, but it is the bible for any Debian user, which Ubuntu is based on, and on which Mint is based. It is for free on .PDF and a printed version exists as well, so you c...
