Re: Will April update of Windows 10 destroy my dual booting Linux Mint 19.1?

@Antoine, Windows is "Like a Box of Chocolates, You never know what you're going to get"! Sounds like you can control when to do the update and delay for awhile if necessary. Obviously you need to make sure you have good backup before the update. Depending on how important it is, you may want a seco...

@ricNS,

You do have the guest additions installed in guest ?
YES, even VBox Extensions

You may need (I don't know for certain) to add yourself to vboxuesrs group as well the vboxsf group.
I saw else where that the xboxusers is only required if using Linux HOST.

Re: USB in VirtualBox Win HOST & Mint Guest?

FWIW, I find it easier to mount USB drives manually. Try this. Remove all filters. Boot guest. Go to Devices: USB. Click drive from list. @pbear, Removed filter. Clicked on devices (USB icon in panel). Right click does nothing. Left click shows the list. Click on the USB, LM says “failed to attach ...

I do not use the program and so I am only guessing. Seems if two different copies of the program do not work (and they used to), there might be a problem with the db, it's location or permissions. Do you have a backup or older copy of the db you could try? Any idea if perhaps some recent update caus...

Re: USB in Vbox Mint Guest?

You do not need the 5.18 packages (these are for 32 bit systems, now obsolete) and you do not need additional drivers, at least not in Linux. THANKS FOR THE INFO! I use VirtualBox in Full Screen mode (right Ctrl + F) which avoids the bar at the bottom that does not tell you much at all. As you have...

Try deleting all the filters. I use none at all and have no trouble mounting USB drives.

BTW, are those 5.18 packages installed or suggested? My VMs list them in Synaptic, but not installed.
@pbear:

Deleted filters, still nogo.

5.18 packages listed but not installed.
