Bluetooth Headphones

I have tried two diff headsets but neither one will pair with my Mint 19.3. They both worked with WIN10 and iPhone.

Using 5 year old Dell XPS 13.

Tried Powerbeats3 headphone and tried WRZ headphone.

Another post said 'install blueman'. Tried it but still NoGo.

Any suggestions?

TIA

[SOLVED] Belarc advisor type app?

In the M/S Windows world there is a program called Belarc Advisor that provides a very detailed profile about the hardware & software of your system. Is there a similar program for Mint (or linux)? I did a Google search and found a post on a ubuntu forum (from 2009) that offered a command line comma...

And now for something completely different.......

I do not use any Backup programs, nor do I rely on timeshift.
Makes sense to me. Just curious, How do you keep track of and restore all your customization & updates?

Re: Installing VirtualBox

The OEM XP license will not work under VB. It is hard coded for the original hardware only. OE = Original Equipment!

You can search for and install XP ISO in VB.

Re: USB to VGA Adapter

@STUMPOFWAR, In the past I had to use an old VGA projector. What I did was use an adapter that was HDMI to VGA. If you go this way you will probably get sound as well. This was using M$ Windose but I assume it will also work w/Mint. Assuming you have HDMI output.

Just an idea!

I feel like pointing out that Windows 10 lets you install Linux directly without the need for a VM as part of its Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). You currently only get command line support, but depending on what your plans are with Linux that may be enough.
@gm10, not Mint is it?

@arun, can you think of anything that has changed “recently”? And have you replaced the mouse battery?

Lost touchpad setting

I had touchpad disabled. After I went to Cinnamon 4.2.4 it became enabled again. Is this normal with updates, to loose settings?

Logitech support has been excellent for me over the years. I have used two wireless keyboard/mouse combo sets. They have provided free online support and free replacements. :D

Been using Logitech combo (K520/M310) for two years no issues. Using Dell XPS 13 & Cinnamon (currently @ 19.2). Let me know if you want any of my 'inxi info' if it will help.

Gents, ...I tried several things (reading posts around here) and at one stage I got the headphones to pair but sound was stuttering like crazy, unusable. Metronomes are one of the best tools around ... if you can't play in time it doesn't matter that else you can do ... but at first most people HATE them.

Re: Autoharp?

@rumpus, Just saw a Maybelle video, WOW!

Obviously will need a tuner. Have seen some people recommend an app on iPhone.

I have reserved a rental for the course I will take in Sept. So I have some time to research before spending big bucks!

Thanks for your comments!

Re: Autoharp?

There does seem to be quite a few videos but I'd also budget for a chromatic tuner (they're cheap). Because, while I've never tried one, it looks to me like an instrument that'd he harder to tune than to play. Looks that way to me as well. The autoharpstore.com includes a chromatic tuner with purch...
