Re: New bluetooth headset, lose contact randomly

I hope it works for you. That looks similar to what I was referring to about the USB port driver.

Good luck.

Re: Headphone working but not automatically detected Mint 19.3

Wow. This is a weird one! I thought maybe you had Auto-Mute Mode disabled (you don't) which could cause this exact situation. And even more strange is the fact that when you ran amixer, both the headphones and the speakers show no volume and muted: Simple mixer control 'Headphone',0 Capabilities: pv...

Re: Sound not working on Tina 19.2

Actually on this link which MrEen posted https://github.com/Dunedan/mbp-2016-linux#audio-input--output I saw that just internal sound is not working. So I plugged in USB headphones and both microphone and speakerphone are working! Thank you very much MrEen for your help, you are saver! You're welco...

Re: Headphone working but not automatically detected Mint 19.3

Okay, it's sounding like a port issue, but could still be software. Let me see the output of amixer please.

Re: Audio Not Working

Hi JNAProductions, and welcome to the forum. I would think under your circumstances a simple reboot would probably fix whatever happened. You might also want to delete the files in /home/YourUserName/.config/pulse then run pulseaudio -k in the terminal. If those don't help, let's see the output of p...

Re: Headphone working but not automatically detected Mint 19.3

Hi eatingpanda, and welcome to the forum. Either your jack detection isn't working, or is reversed. Do Headphones still say (unplugged) when they are actually unplugged? If not, you have reversed jack detection which we can fix. The only thing I can offer if they still say (unplugged) when they are ...

Re: Firefox always gives error message screen

You could click on Details... and that might give a hint as to why this is happening. Or launch Firefox from the terminal and that might output the cause: firefox %u

Also, are you running Firejail or a firewall?

Re: Sound card, wil they work?

Hi Upton. Do you mean this card ? I see most of the mentions of Linux were negative, but one person said this: I really loved this sound card but my system has dual boots and it doesn't work with Ubuntu. I found the work around but it's too much hassle so I gave up. While it may be difficult, I woul...

Re: Attention packager! Eric6 (17.11.1 rev ab851fd69434) needs distutils

https://packages.debian.org/stable/eric has eric (19.02.1+ds1-1) and it has python3-distutils so it would be nice if it made its way downstream to us. Just so you're aware, that version of eric has a dependancy of python3-distutils. Meaning installing that version of eric will also install python3-...

Re: old packages in repository

Yes of course you're right, but Flatpak seems to be....I know know...kind of a (another) workaround that shouldn't be necessary if the repos were more up to date. Ofcourse I'm also running GIMP with Flatpak, seems awesome to have the latest version, I still confused though exactly why the repos are...

Re: Realtime Kernel

Hi buscon. You might want to peruse through this thread on LinuxMusicians and give some consideration to the Liquorix kernel as mentioned in this post . This is a very new kernel, so if your system is quite old, it may not be a good fit for you. The poster that mentions it is using a system that is ...

If your HDMI options are on a separate card from your built-in audio card, install and run PulseAudio Volume Control and turn the HDMI card Off on the Configuration tab. Done.

Re: No audio output after upgrading from 18.3 to 19.3

I honestly think it's just a simple config tweak I'm missing somehow. The big line I pasted for you to copy can be done with any version you end up with, if sound is still not cooperating. I'll leave the decision to you. If you paste the 19.3 output of it, I'll be happy to look through it. Some note...

Re: Soundnode on 19.3 Tricia

I think the app is using a chromium window, at least for the sign in page. It removed all window decoration on my attempts to start the program including the titlebar, but it was a "web page" I was looking at. I don't know if the app proper also uses that, so I can't say how bad that error might be ...

Re: Sound not working on Tina 19.2

It looks like the issues are more complex than I had hoped. On a fresh boot, see if this of any help: sudo modprobe snd_hda_codec_cirrus I'm not really expecting that to get things working, but thought it was strange that it's not loaded already. If you're willing to do some experimentation, I found...

Whenever you're ready to try things, there'll be posts here to read. Don't worry about my time, please. I enjoy helping others. Your path for the aplay command had an error using /user/ instead of /usr/, but that's not important right now. The lack of output from the fuser command is REALLY weird, a...

Re: No audio output after upgrading from 18.3 to 19.3

I am really confused here! You have a card showing, but it's not getting used. I'm hoping this will work: Delete the files in /home/YourUserName/.config/pulse then run pulseaudio -k in the terminal. Now run aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav and please tell me you heard it! Otherwise, let...
