Re: environment modules issues

hi gostal, Using a mint 19(.0) cinnamon vm for testing: I grabbed your shell-script and placed it as /etc/b-init.sh (to avoid id does get sourced directly) additionally I did add /etc/profile.d/b-init-wrappper.sh (to be able to redirect output and errors at a single point) oadm@mint-19-cinnamon-64bi...

Re: environment modules issues

hi gostal, as your shell-script does get executed/sourced - the environment variable should be setup - which you could simply test by writing their value to the /tmp- file like the other debug-output ... My guessing would be somthing far simpler: you might have forgotten to export the variables = as...

Re: [SOLVED] Why does gnome-terminal ignore $HOME/bin ?

yup - I know it's 2019 already, but as people will likely search on why /etc/profile /etc/xprofile $HOME/.profile $HOME/.xprofile are not sourced - will end at related forum posts even in 2019 I'll just add what's the reason + some fix (if people are willing to give it a try) #######################...

Re: LMDE bad Btrfs config for Timeshift / modified installer

I've added a pull-request at https://github.com/linuxmint/live-installer/pull/94 which does add the required selection to the mountpoint-list + modifications to the installer. For the ones interested in testing it - short writeup @how to grab & use the modifications from a live-mint: https://www.orc...

Re: connecting to spotchat using client certificate

Hi phd21 - thx for your reply, I've got it working meanwhile on my own - the cert-creation has not been the issue - and works with IRCS like OFTC as expected ot of the box. Most of the 'problems' where related to HexChat and the default-setup used by Linux Mint to integrate the help-channel - which ...

Re: How can I activate NTFS partition by default ?

Take care to deactivate fast-boot and don't use hibernation on the windows-side (perform a clean shutdown) - you could otherwise get corrupted data - damaging your windows-installation.

connecting to spotchat using client certificate

Hi - does anybody know whether it's possible to connect to spotchat using a client certificate. As the spotchar.org website seems to be unreachable (only showing some error-output) and the 'general' irc-manual supported by clem does not mention it, I cannot find informations about it. thx in advance...

Re: Changelogs aren't available

Hello Monsta, I'm not shure if you address my last post or the thread in general + I don't have enough background about the displayed urls (could be this are the parameters to some server-request which are concatenated to make things look shorter) or a regular url. But in case it's a regular url - I...

<FIXED> pastebin (python-tool) not working

pastebin (python-tool) is heavily used on IRC-channels like #linuxmint-help @SpotChat to pipe output of system-informations (from inxi & other tools) to pastebin/gist returning/displaying an url/link to the according location. If pastebin is not working in your case - returning no output past some t...

Re: Why are my applications not the latest possible version?

Could be this forum is the wrong addressee - but I've to start somewhere - and yes - i read the first post (and some of the replies) ... I noticed that the EnigMail extension (1.8.2) for ThunderBird (45.8.0) does not update to the current version (1.9.7) as expected - others like Lightning and DKIM ...

Re: Changelogs aren't available

hi - reading the post I noticed I've the problem for quite a while - since last year - using LMDE (2). As far I remember another installation using an ubuntu-based linux mint does not show the problem. Digging around on the http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/-site (and the other v...
