Re: Audio files I can actually play??

You have Rhythmbox already there, preinstalled, right ? That's a music player. It can play MP3, and some other music formats. I suggest you explore the plugins, and enable the ReplayGain plugin, in there. Rhythmbox is... not bad, but not the best. If you want the top class, go for Strawberry . You c...

How to post images on LM Forums, part 3: take screenshots

The following instructions are from Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3. You probably have something similar on your desktop environment. Otherwise, you can find what you need in the Software Manager. First, locate the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard. It is usually located at the top right of the keyboard....

How to post images on LM Forums, part 2: external image hosts

If you need to post image files that are larger than 200 kB, then you need an external image host. Like imgur for example. imgur is free, you just need to take the time to register and explore. Alternately, you could use a link to an image uploaded on your own website, if you have one. 1. Upload you...

Re: New guy found Linux mint AFTER disgusted with windows spy policies

How do I get a picture to a 200 kB size? My screenshot of the picture I took is 1.7 mB. I have 3 pictures I would like to upload. You can put up to 3 attachments per posts. That's 200 kB + 200 kB + 200 kB = 600 kB (max.) Maximum file size per attachment: 200 kB. You may need to reduce your image si...

It sounds like you are the perfect person to write a better one; in fact you have pretty much already done so. If you will post it in Tutorials, I will gladly make it sticky. Thanks. :) Done: How to post pictures on Linux Mint Forums But that's just 1/2 of the job. There should be a part 2 about us...

Re: New guy found Linux mint AFTER disgusted with windows spy policies

This might help: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=334468 I find this "tutorial" misleading. It starts wrong. The OP is confusing the drag-and-drop with the rimg tag. The correct information can only be found when scrolling down to the reply: So I do the same with Attachments a...

Re: New guy found Linux mint AFTER disgusted with windows spy policies

I took pictures, but do NOT know how to upload pics on the forum. That's a common problem here. There should be a small tutorial, somewhere, pinned on top. There are many ways to post pictures. The easiest way is to upload pictures right here, on the Linux Mint Forums servers. You could just drag-a...

Re: Do authors of LM want their OS was used more?

I see a lot of demand for LM from users with old PCs from city dumps and junkyards. Will LM proliferate with such target auditory ? Sure, why not ? I am on an old refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF. That's more than 8 years old. Old but clean. I am happy with it. I see this positively: Promote Lin...

Re: Prevent sleep/suspend while playing audio

I tried to test it with Rhythmbox. But first I though I should try it as is, just out-of-the-box. Well, I found Rhythmbox already does inhibit the suspend. So I just can't test with this one, because there is no need to. It already works fine as is. So, what music player do you want to use ? System ...

AFAIK, yes. Read this: man systemd-inhibit.

Do you need any help for this? A little step-by-step guide, maybe?

Re: Do authors of LM want their OS was used more?

The filename of the ISO is changed, it has an extra " (1)" in it. Yes, you must rename that file. Don't forget to remove that " " space too: "linuxmint-21.3-cinnamon-64bit-edge (1).iso" -> "linuxmint-21.3-cinnamon-64bit-edge.iso" In Nemo (Cinnamon's file mana...

Re: Do authors of LM want their OS was used more?

Do authors of LM want their OS was used more? That's a good question. I really do wonder, too... Thanks for taking the time and putting the effort to let us know. Sadly, I feel there are lots of people who just quit, right from the start. People like you. Thus, there remains on the forums only a “v...

Re: Prevent sleep/suspend while playing audio

I had the same issue on an old netbook converted into a music player... I mean, I installed a complete Linux Mint Mate on it, but I am only using it for music and white noise playing... I just set the power manager to never "suspend when inactive". I could still put it to sleep/suspend if ...

Good. Your computer can only be paired to one Bluetooth device at a time.

Also, your mouse can only be connected and paired to one host at a time. Your mouse must be disconnected from any other computer or tablet.
