Re: How to install kernel 6.7 in Mint 21.2

Duly noted. But as I've said there's not much else to do but to install 6.7 and hope for the best. Good thing is it was a fresh install in the first place so not that much to lose anyway.

Re: How to install kernel 6.7 in Mint 21.2

I get all of this but my brother has no sound from speakers so... You know, not having some cool extra feature is one thing but working sound is a pretty basic think to ask for.

Re: How to install kernel 6.7 in Mint 21.2

On my system Linux Mint 21.3 (beta) I'm running Mainline kernels with 6.6.10 to get the nouveau to work nice with multiple screens on the I9-13900H CPU with the Raptor Lake-P Iris Xe Graphics. The system runs smooth without any problems, even though Mint kernels app tells me unsupported. The unsupp...

How to install kernel 6.7 in Mint 21.2

As in the title: can anybody tell me how to make it work? My brother have bought a new ASUS Zenbook and the sound doesn't work on speakers. This is a recognized problem with the lack of drivers for Cirrus Logic amplifiers, and the drivers are finally included in the new kernel : https://gist.github....

Re: Archive manager does not use system theme

Sorry, my bad. I use Eleganse-dark theme with Adwaita-dark borders. buttons, etc. We're talking LM 21.1 Cinammon. The thing is that's the only program that seems to ignore ,my dark theme for some reason. Even VirtualBox which gave me some troubles some time ago works flawlessly now along with every ...

Archive manager does not use system theme

As in the subject: although I have dark theme on my system, the archive manager burns my eyes with white windows and bright window borders for some reason. Any suggestions what to do?

Re: NVidia card desktop artifacts

I'm digging up the topic because I wonder if anyone came across the problem I had. Since my last post I tried few kernels from 5.8 line, few from 5.11 and 5.13. I've also upgraded my NVidia drivers few times and the newest ones were 4.90. Despite all of this the glitches and messed up fonts stayed w...

Re: NVidia card desktop artifacts

Hello, And just when I thought nobody wants to help me it turns out that, for some reason, I did not get the notification about the reply. Thank you for answering the call. Here's the result: System: Kernel: 5.4.0-72-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 9.3.0 Desktop: MATE 1.24.0 info: mate-pane...

NVidia card desktop artifacts

Hello, I have some strange problem with my Mint 20.1 Mate when I'm trying to move any icon across my desktop it gives strange artifacts. I did not observe such behavior on 19.3. I tried to revert to using older drivers so I switched from the newest 460 to 390 but no dice. I use LTS kernel 5.4.0-71 a...

Most part of the names vanished on desktop

Hello everyone. Tooday I booted my laptop and strange thing occurred: most of the names on the desktop are cut after first four letters and the last letter is in bold. If I try to open system tray or any directory, terminal it's the same thing. Because of that I can't even check what was updated lat...

Maybe it's because it was not a fresh install. I don't know. All I know it works now.

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

This works in caja also. Nope, Just upgraded from 18.3 to 19 and this particular feature is gone. And I need it badly. There are only few extensions installed by default. The one you are looking for is: apt install caja-admin The edit as administrator function is hardcoded to use pluma as the edito...

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

Nope, Just upgraded from 18.3 to 19 and this particular feature is gone. And I need it badly. That's odd.It works in Ubuntu 18.04 MATE. Why would Mint have removed the option? Can you open Caja with: pkexec caja from a terminal? "Could not parse arguments: can't open screen." I've discove...

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

In Nemo you can browse to a folder, right click on the background in the file display area and select 'open as root.' Displaying a file from the window will then open the editor with elevated privileges. This works in caja also. Nope, Just upgraded from 18.3 to 19 and this particular feature is gon...

DOSBox SVN compilation

Hello, I searched the almighty web and found out that despite the last official DOSBox release (0.74) is several years old there's a community enhanced version aka DOSBox ECE. The latest release is 4065 but the author stopped compiling Linux binaries at 4025. I tried to compile the newest sources do...

Re: Autologin on lightdm

To be quite honest I don't really understand the purpose of making autologin active so difficult. Linux Mint is supposed to be user friendly so this is a huge misunderstanding in my opinion. All in all it's possible but still - no nice menu with even nicer switch just to activate one simple option i...
