Re: Programmable hardware radio sought.

I am focused on finding an Android APK that can achieve what I want now. That is tune in and record at a time of my choosing. if you have not found the .apk site, I have a bookmark on one that I pulled last year. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=23578570567716666 I have not needed to do what you se...

Re: Programmable hardware radio sought.

Does any of you knowledgeable people know of a hardware radio capable of receiving US stations with timed recording capability, programmable . What do you mean exactly by "radio"? Do you mean real, over the airwaves, short wave radio? Because I have a hard time imagining why anyone would listen to ...

Re: Looking for recording internet radio software

Audacious works, it records the stream when system audio is muted, but no plugin for timed recording which means the file will carry on recording all night. Not my brightest ever idea. Conclusion: unusable for my situation unless someone writes a plugin.

Re: Looking for recording internet radio software

The show I am interested in starts transmission at 01.00 AM GMT every night so I will have an hour before the show actually begins at 02.00 AM to play around. I think Audacious is what I will use. Not ideal but what is. It allows recording but doesn't have time controls, that I am aware of.

Re: Looking for recording internet radio software

I am now thinking about a hardware solution. Does anyone know of a hardware radio capable of receiving US stations with timed recording capability, programmable . Not hardware but software (streamtuner2). apt install streamtuner2 https://www.lifewire.com/online-radio-stations-using-streamtuner-4074...

Re: Programmable hardware radio sought.

Thanks. The radio show broadcasts on WBCQ and KYAH and FM. I think it would be receivable on a pretty simple set up on the FM band in the UK. It's just the timed auto record that's the problem.

Well I don't hang decorations or have a tree or consider myself Christian or pagan but probably a rough mixture of both. But I wish you all seasonal greetings from my humble house.

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

Yes that one is ancient in comparison and mine does not have RAID and has a 150W PSU built in. It was an unnecessary extra as I use it for my video collection only. Mine has dual control chip which are later versions than those cited at the link. i do not think my unit has screws under the feet thou...

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

My guess would be that chances are they are Torx screws if only because they are so commonly used in disk drives and other computer devices. It would help if you could post a good photo of one head. Problem is that I have it in an awkward position and I have a bad knee so moving it is a last resort...

Please note it's almost always as above, and I do know this as a fact from another Orico unit. It would help if you'd post a model number.
The model number is 9558U3 but I have the model with an upgraded power supply which is now internal.

Re: Looking for recording internet radio software

I don't have headphones handy mine are wireless and plugged into the TV. There must be an easier way to do this. You lost the idea - physical headphones is not needed, just set sound output for headphone jack and input for Audio Recoder. But earlier you were saying something about pulling out the p...

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

If it is a screw then I think it will be something like this one. Oval Screw Head - Jura external.svg Espresso makers from Jura Elektroapparate use a proprietary screw head with an eccentric oval to dissuade users from servicing their own machine, but the tool required (or just the bit for a common ...

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

I remove rivets easily by drilling through them and replacing them with rivets or screws. It is very easy. I am not entirely sure they are rivets. I thought they may be some kind of strange tork screws, perhaps of a security type. DIY is not my interest area so I thought someone may know what they ...

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

Using rivets instead of screws makes little to no difference on the cost. It is usual to provide an access panel to equipment, like the case of a PC. Especially when a component like a fan may quit in the not too distant future. Making the panel inaccessible and therefore tying the owner to a use on...

Re: Looking for recording internet radio software

Okay tried again but this time I lowered the sound in system and still it recorded silence. The only way I can get this software to record is if I have the volume up. So it is unsuitable for my purpose. Do not lower sound level, just set headphone as the default output and for Audio Recoder, headph...

Re: Hassle buying from China shipped via DHL.

I emailed Orico tech-support to ask how to gain entry to the case so that I can replace a case fan when it eventually fails. Doesn't the case have some obvious screws to disassemble it? They look like rivets with a round hole in the centre. I was asking about the tool I need but they do not want me...
