Re: I can't get on-line unless I'm using my VPN

Re: Torrent client problems [SOLVED]

Thanks for the help guys!

I'm using the manual copy and past solution because the other started talking about voiding warranties... that doesn't sound like places I want to go, being a newbie and lacking in Linux tech knowledge.

At any rate, that's what I needed. :)

Re: Trying to setup a Linux Mint network at home

After trying nemo smb://rondo.local/"Ron's Movies" I get a box saying, "Password required for share ron's movies on rondo.local" As "Registered user," username and domain are filled in and "password" is blank. I tried the password I used on the server/Rondo computer and the login password for the.. ...

Re: Trying to setup a Linux Mint network at home

Alright, if I'm doing the same on the other computer you are going to have to tell me what a "smb" password is. It wants me to put a "new smb password" in and I'm concerned I'm changing his login or something. Trust me, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing here.

Re: Trying to setup a Linux Mint network at home

I don't think samba is on the other computer. Tried installing it a while back and the computer crashed. I reinstalled Linux and didn't try it again. I was of the understanding that you only needed it for connecting windows computers to Linux computers. Should I try again? Do you want me to run and ...

Re: Trying to setup a Linux Mint network at home

An external USB drive is not mounted by dedafult in Linux. When you click on it it gets mounted. You need to permanently mount it and make it accessible reliably on the network. The following command will tell us the file system on your external drive: sudo parted -l Mint CInnamon and Mate have a u...

Re: Trying to setup a Linux Mint network at home

Thanks, crazy busy yesterday and today. I will try to fit some time in to figure out all this information and get something done.

I'm sure the answer is in this thread several times over... just don't have the time right now to sort it all out.
