Re: No Dual Boot!

from the Ubuntu Forums https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2392797&s=3db6e8cdc173a50e974cb5151898f8a6 ... The "OS Boot Manager" is hard coded to load the Microsoft EFI file and will always run before any other local EFI files. ... So basically you are screwed as far as dual booting on an HP 15...

Re: disable/dismiss "This media contains digital photos" bar?

same issue here I went to caja preferences-media & set to never prompt. That did NOTHING! If there is a DCIM directory or images with camera information embedded this annoying bar shows up. I have come to the conclusion that there is no OFF switch for this annoyance. It's not a bug - IT'S A F...

Workspace Control

Is there any way to control what workspace a program starts in? Can a program start visible in all workspaces? I have things set so that programs are only visible in the workspace they start in. I would like the file manager (caja) to be visible in all workspaces so I do not have to always right-cli...

Re: No HDMI Audio (Solved, sort of)

pavucontrol is nice but still no HDMI listed why on a modern day system is HDMI is so difficult? :? I plug in the external monitor or TV and it should work without having to open a terminal every time to dick with the system so when I plug in the HDMI I plug the speakers into the laptop instead of t...

/etc/rc.local is not executed during boot

it is executable but does not seem to execute I need this to run xinput map-to-output 9 eDP1 so the touch screen is only the primary not the entire mess #!/bin/sh -e # # rc.local # # This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel. # Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success o...

Equalizers

Linux Mint Mate 18.2 is what I run. No v 19 for me... yet. Don't like the way Mint is going. OK Why when Mint is using pulseaudio does it not include the equalizer? Or for that matter any equalizer at all? :?: In fact I have found few equalizers for Mint. Nothing in the default repositories. :? Used...

Re: Worried about the future: Linux Mint 19

I do not like the NEW trend in Linux either. I mentioned in another post on another forum my concern over 'flatpak'. https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-general-1/flatpak-4175636086/ CSS is another bug of mine in Linux. A 2,000 line CSS which cascades into another 2,000 line file that ref...
