I did this HPLIP installation yesterday, and encountered the same warning. Since I know I can always use Timeshift to get back to my previous state, I went ahead with the installation, followed all the prompts, and everything worked correctly.

Just upgraded. But my user interface looks exactly the same as before, apart from larger panel icons. Everything seems to work, and keeping things the same suits me fine. But I'm puzzled as to why I don't see any significant changes.

I have the same problem. However, xfe works very well, and is a good workaround. It's a shame that a workaround is needed at all for such a basic function.
