Andriod x86_64 need SSE4.1, 4.2 https://developer.android.com/ndk/guides/abis

So I am installing Andriod x86 32 bit version.
The x86 package refuses to install on x64 operating systems. Try the x64 package despite of the SSE requirements. It will be slower but hopefully will install.

Re: Cannot install Viber in Linuxmint 19 Xfce

You can install it using dpkg:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i viber.deb
But after that it reports that the package is broken and the update manager on every update will want to deinstall it and you have to install it again. The settings are kept so you just have to repeat the installation.

Re: I want install an Antivirus/Antimalware

I installed 'clamtk' from ubuntu repositories, but I denote it's an old version 4.45. Its scanning operation is a bit slow to my pc. ClamAV has very low detection rate and most probably none for android viruses. You can install any free antivirus on your phone instead, which for sure is designed to...

Re: Best Mint 19 version for a touch screen

Mint 18.3 works nice with touch screens but 19 is useless - too many irresponsible objects (buttons, menus, etc.).

I wouldn't call this mistake. This was your opinion at that time trying to help. It can be correct or it can be wrong. This is a forum and most of the time the participants give advises without to be able to test them all before writing them. The responsibility lays on the person who ask for help to...

Trying to install xserver-xorg-input gives the following error: E: Unable to locate package xserver-xorg-input

PS: My mistake - on the blog page the code has auto-hidden scroll bar, so I've missed "synaptics".

You most probably meant Mint 19? The development of 19.1 is not even started. Regarding 19 you can read this announcement: https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3590

Re: No HDMI sound in Mint (but works in Ubuntu)

The latest kernel for Mint 18.3 is 4.13, while Ubuntu 18.04 comes with 4.15. The audio will work with Mint 19, but until then you can use these kernels: https://github.com/M-Bab/linux-kernel-amdgpu-binaries
My recommendation however is to use Mint 19 beta.

i don't expect much from an alpha, but a beta should be more polished.
These are just your expectations and you are free to move to an OS which has alphas, polished betas, more finished gammas and so on, instead of complaining about not even published beta.

Re: Because of the Facebook data scandal, should Linux Mint delete its Facebook page?

Mint's security doesn't have anything in common with Facebook's scandal. In that regard I really can't understand your question! You are free to use or not Facebook. If you are concern that Mint facebook page will be used for data collection about mint developers or Mint OS itself... well don't.

Re: Linux Mint Freezes on high memory usage

You don't have any free space left on the swap partition which means that you have ran out of memory (despite the fact that linux indicates that only 24GB of RAM is used) and swap space. ID-3: swap-1 size: 34.05GB used: 0.00GB (0%) Hello? ID-3: swap-1 size: 34.05GB used: 0.00GB (0%) fs: swap dev: /...

Well... format the swap partition without encryption and try again. Your system info returns that the swap partition is full, so it can't use it.
