My Mint 21.3 updated to 6.5.0-1014 few days ago, so 6.5 is still supported.

[SOLVED] Do I need proprietary driver with Radeon Pro WX?

Currently I have Nvidia Quadro M2000 and in order to use its full performance I have to install the proprietary driver from Nvidia as I had to do the same with my previous GT1030. Using the Nouveau drivers reduce significantly the performance. I know that this is not the case with the AMD video card...

Re: Very slow USB transfer speeds

I have the same problem - terrible USB transfer with kernel 5.15. When I start copy large amount of data it starts good ~200-300MB/s and after the 1st or 2nd GB it starts to lag. As a result the average transfer is 5 to 10MB/s. It is the same on 3 machines - Dell 7010, HP 8300 and Lenovo Ideapad 5, ...

No, this issue was clearly clearly connected to dual booting. Turning off the laptop solve it, so it is not related to BIOS settings.

Re: Bluetooth not detecting device, LM21 (Cinn), fresh install, new laptop

Do you have Windows installed on the laptop? I had issues with finding some bluetooth devices on Lenovo laptop with Realtek bluetooth. It turned out that the issue is connected with dual booting. When I start Windows and after that reboot to Linux, there are some bluetooth devices that are not disco...

Re: Desktop, Cinnamon, Mate or Xfce

Most probably there won't be any noticeable difference in the speed between them on your laptop. Regarding the reliability my opinion is that XFCE is the most stable.

Re: Linux Mint 19 Update Manager not working

Thank you for the help. I tried, following your instructions. Still the same, cannot open it. What else to suggest? What you are trying to open? If you are trying to open the update manager, it will not open with these instructions. What you have to do is to open the terminal and copy and paste the...

Choosing a hard disk during Mint 20 installation

Currently I have installed 19.3 on encrypted hard disk. Now I started the installation process of Mint 20 and the installer gave me 2 options - to erase the entire disk or something else. The "something else" led me to the well know partitioner, which do not give me an option to encrypt th...

Re: Linux mint 19.3 install from 19.2

I also read that the upgrade from 19.2 to 19.3 is a simple install. The article in which you have read this, actually should state that the upgrade WILL be a simple install. I suppose they have copy/pasted from a previous article. Usually it takes few days after the official announce until the upgr...

Re: xfce 4.14

I have Xfce 4.14 on Xubuntu. Got it by adding the Xubuntu Staging PPA: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/staging I'm guessing that won't work for Mint though. I have not run across any bugs or problems so far. The best thing about it to me is it fixes the broken mouse acceleration slider so i...

So I am installing Andriod x86 32 bit version.
The x86 package refuses to install on x64 operating systems. Try the x64 package despite of the SSE requirements. It will be slower but hopefully will install.

Re: Cannot install Viber in Linuxmint 19 Xfce

You can install it using dpkg:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i viber.deb
But after that it reports that the package is broken and the update manager on every update will want to deinstall it and you have to install it again. The settings are kept so you just have to repeat the installation.

Re: I want install an Antivirus/Antimalware

I installed 'clamtk' from ubuntu repositories, but I denote it's an old version 4.45. Its scanning operation is a bit slow to my pc. ClamAV has very low detection rate and most probably none for android viruses. You can install any free antivirus on your phone instead, which for sure is designed to...

Mint 18.3 works nice with touch screens but 19 is useless - too many irresponsible objects (buttons, menus, etc.).
