Re: Evolution deleted during update

same here on update, needless to say I have not clicked ok

Image

If I do it through

Code: Select all

apt upgrade
then it holds evolution back and does not upgrade it

Re: Evolution not displaying some HTML messages

EDIT - just checked, running v2.26.2 of libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0-18 and libwebkit2gtk without issue. And possibly some dark themes that dont theme the inner element the bug in evolution when using 2.26 ONLY Applies to (some) dark themes. Light themes (and some dark themes) are unaffected more on it...

Re: [SOLVED] Evolution not displaying some HTML messages

Just to update on this for others who have the same problem. Theres a problem with libwebkit2gtk 2.26 which broke evolution. gnome have fixed it in evolution 3.34 series (and the flatpak) but have not backported the fix to evolution 3.28 it is currently filed as a bug on launchpad https://bugs.launc...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

Had a play around this evening. Have put what I've done so far on userstyles. https://userstyles.org/styles/178826/linux-mint-forums-wip Havn't changed any structure, just changing colours, removing gradients and the like and making things green (instead of random yellow and blue) Forum Index - mode...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

You can tell I've been bored today. Messing around with CSS in Stylus. Didn't actually change much. New header (colours same as the LM Blog), with new logo. All fonts modernised and increased in size to 12cpi+. Separation between posts added and rounded corners removed. Avatar and profiles made bigg...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

Also, the Xenforo Advanced Search is faster than Google's Advanced Search, and the results are even more impressive than what google suggests. One thing Xen is very good with is indexing without massively impacting the server. Having built and run a forum myself, the search is a balance.. set the i...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

Corners rounded or exactly rectangular are something of absolutely no matter. And I personally find your proposal ugly. A good search function within the Linux Mint Forums threads would be very useful. each to his own :D For me, i struggle a bit with online reading for various reasons, and curved c...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

Its quite easy to modernise the theme yourself with a few css tweaks. even little things like removing the rounded corners (which are really ugly) spacing posts out a bit, enlarging the text can make things look more "modern" while retaining the same look I might build a userstyle that fl...

Re: 19.3 to 20

In defence of in place upgrades. Ive gone from 17, to 18, to 19 via the upgrade method and never had a problem. (first time ive had any issues at all was 19.2>19.3) That said, since 18.1 ive been using XFCE as my DD but my install is Cinnamon, so come 20 I may bite the bullet and do a clean install ...

Re: linux mint name change

Intel used to trademark numbers that they used in their CPU models (eg 286, 386, etc). Until I judge decided that it wasn't appropriate for a company to own a trademark for a simple number. That's when they started using proper names, eg Pentium, for their CPUs. No, that's a bit of a myth. You can ...

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 'Tricia' What are your First Impressions?

might have found (at least part of) my problem. update-apt-xapi seems to be running with alarming regularity (like every few minutes) and prioritising cpu useage to itself. Turned off automatic checking for updates everywhere for now till i see if thats the problem.

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 'Tricia' What are your First Impressions?

just had a look, xiccd not installed on mine. My other (very minor) grievance is that mint update icon is still showing in the legacy notification area and not in the more up to date status notifier area. (along equally annoyingly with hexchat and evolution). Surprised its not been promoted yet. (do...

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 'Tricia' What are your First Impressions?

Will read through the thread in a bit to see if any have had similar experiences, but 19.3 has not been a happy one for me. My base install is Cinnamon, but I use XFCE as my daily driver, and 19.2 decided it was no longer going to let me have 4.14 from the Xubuntu ppa and insisted I could only have ...

Re: [ABANDONED UNSOLVED] Does anybody know of a useable Linux version of Foxit PDF Reader for Windows?

I dont really get what your problem is with Foxit I have used it on linux for years and it works as well as windows version including keyboard navigation. (i too used Foxit on windows) you can completely customise all the keyboard controls under help>keyboard mapping zooming for instance which you c...

Pretty straightforward one for me (note the transparent right sidebar with menu - i find right hand sidebars so much more intuitive) Like i say, pretty straightforward, only slight interesting bit is auto kill of transmission when vpn is off (live in the uk, isps dont like torrenting) Selection_004....

Atheros Bluetooth/Blueman No Adapters found

Hey all. First post after lurking for a while. Recently made the fulltime move to linux, prior linux use was way back in the days when RedHat came on 8 cd's. Anyway.. borked bluetooth The problem i was initially having was connecting a bluetooth speaker to the machine. It would find the speaker, con...
