Re: Realtime Kernel

Hi buscon. You might want to peruse through this thread on LinuxMusicians and give some consideration to the Liquorix kernel as mentioned in this post . This is a very new kernel, so if your system is quite old, it may not be a good fit for you. The poster that mentions it is using a system that is...

Re: Realtime Kernel

Proper information about how to install it from a repository for Ubuntu 18.04. It seems like to Ubuntu/Debian repository offers such a kernel. Re: Display scaling with 4k Monitor on Mate

great, thanks a lot!
Actually I am running 19.3, I mistyped it.
So I just changed that through Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts tab -> Details -> Resolution

Is there a quicker way to change this value? I often need to change it between home and work.

Display scaling with 4k Monitor on Mate

hi,

I am running mint 19.2 with Mate. I recently got a 4k Monitor, the resolution is great but the overall look is too small, how can scale the whole screen to a bigger one without changing the resolution?
There is no such option in the Monitor Precerences.

thank you.

New 5.1 Kernel

hi everyone,

I was wondering when the new 5.1 kernel is planned for linux mint.

As I have a RME UCX soundcard, I am eager to test how the new kernel is improving the usage of this soundcard:

Re: Korean language in browser does not work

thanks for your answer!

I tried out to stop Ibus and restart it: then it works in the browser too!

So it seems like Ibus is starting probably too early or something like that?

Re: "Open with" does not differenciate between different text file formats

There is no Mint 19.2. Run this in a terminal window to restore association with VLC: xdg-mime default vlc.desktop audio/x-mpegurl audio/mpegurl video/vnd.mpegurl Should work unless something is wrong with your file type detection. thanks! that works and fixed the problem! the thread is closed from...

"Open with" does not differenciate between different text file formats

To simplify the explanation of the issue, let's say I have two text files: 1. foo.txt 2. foo.m3u The first is a simple text file, the second is a text file containing information of a playlist (that I usually play with VLC). When i associate the file foo.txt to b...

Pulseaudio and cpu in mint 19

I upgraded to Mint 19 and all works fine, but I noticed pulseaudio is using more cpu than normally, 10 to 14%, even though I am not using any audio application.

is this a known issue? how can I fix that?

thanks

Re: Pulseaudio in Mint 19

SOLVED

the settings have to be uncommented!
default-sample-format = s32le
default-sample-rate = 48000
alternate-sample-rate = 48000

not
; default-sample-format = s32le
; default-sample-rate = 48000
; alternate-sample-rate = 48000
