Re: rEFInd won't boot - what to do?

Thank you so much for these detailed instructions! It must have taken quite a bit to come up with the code and to type it all out. Thank you. Unfortunately, nothing changed from it. I got upset and instead of booting straight into LM from my damned grub boot screen, went into the system settings. I ...

Re: rEFInd won't boot - what to do?

Yes but I did that. First, it tells me the last two are undefined, so I omit them. That works - until I actually reboot. It's automatically changed back. Hence I implemented it in a startup script that got me weird results (as described above). I edited my beginning post to make everything a little ...

[Solved] rEFInd won't boot - what to do?

Hey guys, I just did a fresh install of Linux Mint on a new laptop . I installed refind. It boots using grub anyway. Here's what I did: sudo efibootmgr - I discovered refind is the last of my options. sudo efibootmgr -o - This works until I restart and the original order is automatically restored, m...

Re: Applications open barely visible, restart required

IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I have screenshots. you can see the original program opened, the "do i want to save the screenshot?", the browser open, the "do i want to quit" menu open. i wanted to give you different perspectives. the "menu" menu still worked, i thought i took a screenshot of that too, but appa...

Re: Applications open barely visible, restart required

Thank you! The driver manager did list an Nvidia graphics card and it was recommended, too. I switched to it and rebooted, it now says Nvidia is used in performance mode, Intel for power saving mode (let me know if you want a screenshot of any of that). I guess now I wait until it either happens aga...

Applications open barely visible, restart required

Hi guys. I've recently switched from Windows 8.1 to Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 64-bit. In Windows, when I hadn't rebooted in a while, left and right click would switch, requiring me to restart to fix it. I figured when sometimes I opened an application (folder or program, afai have noticed) and I thou...
