Re: Does this problem happen on your Cinnamon desktop??

Addendum: Just to make extra sure, I visited https://bing.wallpaper.pics/ again, in (genuine Mozilla) Firefox 70.0.1 . My desktop is still loaded. No crash so far. In particular the X11 server is still alive. Yet, I admit that this still is on Mint 19.1 xfce. So the question asked in the title, "Do...

Re: Does this problem happen on your Cinnamon desktop??

Hello, twodogs. BAM! the screen turns black and you are logged out of Cinnamon. This suggests that your graphical desktop crashed. This is why you were returned to the login screen. Frequently such a problem is caused by the graphics driver software. In order to verify you might like to provide ......

Does this problem happen on your Cinnamon desktop??

I was looking for wallpapers.. and typed 'bing wallpaper' in Google. The first website link says "Bing™ Wallpaper Gallery." Click this link. The website will load up and then, BAM! the screen turns black and you are logged out of Cinnamon. Is this a Cinnamon problem or the websites problem (I'm usin...

Re: Controlling the font in the Cinnamon menu and the panel

I think I have found the problem. Although you can basically define the font used for the desktop, the font used in the theme is fixed. So the topic determines the font in the menu and in the panel. That does not really fit, that one can select the fonts otherwise. I have now changed the font in th...

Re: All Desktop Screenshots of 2019

I wish i can have both and switch it just like you switch your DE in log in screen. I have different set-ups, too, and I use keyboard shortcuts to change them on the fly. alt+d goes dark with aqua dark theme and aqua dark icons with white cursor alt+l goes light with aqua darker theme and aqua dark...

Re: Linux Mint logo suggestion

I think my panel is default size (height=40) That big? Well, I was thinking of something like 16 pixels (website favicon, see attached) to 24 pixels (my panel). ;) mintlogo-troken-inverse-16x16.png Nope. It's not symmetrical. Nope. It's not symmetrical. I actually really like that 16 pixel icon! I ...

Re: All Desktop Screenshots of 2019

I have been very interested in Bedrock Linux and wondered if it would actually work with Linux Mint. My dream has been realized! I love my Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon, but really like the AUR of Arch Linux. I installed Linux Mint in Virtualbox. Updated Linux Mint and rebooted. I then installed Bedrock ...

Re: A London Ad Man's Lessons for Linux on the Desktop

I think Linux Mint is actually relatively good at speaking to a wider audience. I've not seen any Linux do it better, anyway. Except there's no actual speaking outside of the monthly blog posts, that's what I meant with lack of advertising. You can see the immediate result of some publicity from al...

Re: Linux Mint logo suggestion

This looks very similar to Adam McBride's concept logo from 10 years ago but with the stems of the M widened. Re: A London Ad Man's Lessons for Linux on the Desktop

I found this post on /r/linux and it pointed to a nice article on Linkedin. A London Ad Man's Lessons for Linux on the Desktop Rory Sutherland talks about Linux on the Desktop and things that could be better. He specifically talks about Linux Mint, too. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/london-ad-mans...

The layout looks fine but the color banding looks ugly, did you reduce the color space?
Those are Mint colors. At least the dark color is (#2E2E2E).

New Linux Mint wallpapers I have made.

I have made some new Linux Mint wallpapers and would like to share. I hope you enjoy them! I used MadmanRB's Mint logo for my wallpapers and the 'Powered by' part I found somewhere online a long while ago. album on Imgur I created these in 3840x2160 resolution for my laptop. Let me know what you thi...
