The Bionic repo (Ubu 18.04) is already included in the Official Repositories List in Mint 19 Tara . . :)

If the Webmin software is bypassing Synaptic and the Update Manager, you will most likely need to delve into the Webmin documentation to find a way to disable it.

Or , easier yet, open and login to the Software Sources program, and simply un-check the checkbox for the cdrom. :)

In Mint 19 (I'm not on it), I think pkexec might be what you need at the beginning of your command. Try man pkexec in the terminal to see if it is what you are looking for.

Those mint-meta are just list files used for installation of multiple packages. Removing them will not hurt any thing. :)

Most laptops, one needs to press F12 (or similar) immediately at power on when you see the Manufacturer's logo, to get to the boot selection screen, where one is able to choose to boot from the optical drive.

vlc Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL ' bluray:///dev/sg0 '. Check the log for details. Looks like the default is set wrong in VLC's preferences . . it should not be a 'g' , but should be set to /dev/sr0 You should also not have to try to mount it manually. Can you use this ...

Check in Synaptic Package Manager, and be sure you have libbluray1 (or similarly named, check the description) installed. If not, install it, reboot, and try it again. Please report your results. :-)

Was it a .deb file ? or some sort of zip? If it was a deb file, choose "open with gdebi package installer"
Mint 18.3 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, did you download the correct version?

PS: uBlock Origin is a Mozilla Add-on that you can download/install from Firefox's Add-ons menu. (I use it)

If it is clam that you installed, it is not a GUI and is run by the terminal, the GUI you want is called clam-tk, you will need to download/install that to see an actual program. With that said, I have been running Linux Mint since Mint version 5, and have NEVER installed an av, and have NEVER caugh...

Well, without the hardware information, I would not have known you are using that dreaded, bug infested, 0.24 linux kernel that many, many users are having multiple issues with . . (just browse through the active forum topics to see for yourself) please reboot, hold down the Shift key during bootup ...
