Re: .bundle file wont run

Code: Select all

cd /home/doug/Downloads/
sudo ./VMware-Player-14.1.1-7528167.x86_64.bundle
Tried that. No-go.

[Solved]Re: My wife forgot her password

Thanks everyone for comments and sympathy. I had difficulty with the procedure referenced by Moen. I couldn't get step 1, display Grub menu, to work on my system. But I didn't need it. Because my own account was undamaged a simple
sudo passwd <wife-username>
was sufficient.

Sharing a partition

My system has 2 hard drives, call them System and Data. I just added a second user to my system and I find that the Data partition is not shared. It shows up as either /media/user1/Data or /media/user2/Data, unavailable to the other user. Now it seems unreasonable that 2 users have to share access t...

Want to upgrade

Not genuine Newbie but this got to be Newbie-class question. I'm running Linux Mint 18 (Sarah) and read the blog that I can upgrade direct to 18.2. But I stop at step 0. When I try to launch Update Manager nothing happens. Can't figure out how to get Update Manager to run.
