Re: UPDATE: Elyssa KDE Beta

I don't suppose there's any chance the Volume OSD has been fixed from Daryna?

Re: KDE stable release

I'm loving the beta also! The only problem I have is, after a fresh install, when I upgrade the packages it tells me to I lose my Volume on-screen-display. My laptop volume buttons still change the volume, but the graphical volume display no longer appears. If anyone knows how to get it back, that ...

Re: Laptop Volume buttons

One more update. Sorry! The volume OSD was still working after I had installed all the updates last night. However, upon restarting the laptop today, it has disappeared again. I believe it is one of the kde packages that were in the updates that is causing this, but I'm not sure which one, or what w...

Re: Laptop Volume buttons

After some more messing around I just did a fresh re-install and retraced my steps. I think what I did the first time was I installed all the updates in minUpdate, THEN I was playing around in Adept and I did the "Full Upgrade" which is what nixed my volume OSD, although the volume control...

Re: Daryna KDE CE BETA 044 is out!

After installing it on my laptop overall I like it alot! Now, the problems I've had so far. Problems: Volume buttons - at first the hardware volume buttons on my lenovo n100 didn't work. Then I configured the "global shortcuts" in kmix and they worked. Then I upgraded everything that mintu...

Re: Laptop Volume buttons

Alright, so I was wrong. The volume buttons are working still, however the on-screen volume graphic isn't showing up when I change the volume.

Does anybody know where the on-screen volume display settings are located so i can turn it back on?

Re: Laptop Volume buttons

Ok, I was really excited that I figured it out. I get home from work where I have wireless internet and install all the updates that minUpdate tells me are available and now they volume buttons don't work. The global shortcuts are still configured to what they were after i got them working, but it's...

Re: Laptop Volume buttons

Fabulous! I figured it out. I don't know why I didn't think to try this before. I just went into Kmix and went to Settings>Configure Global Shortcuts. I clicked on each command (raise volume, lower volume, and mute) and then pressed the hardware button to assign it to. Restarted X and it worked! I d...

Laptop Volume buttons

Ok. I reported that they weren't working in the bug-reporting thread. But in the interesting of helping pinpoint the problem quicker, does anybody else have volume buttons on their laptop that don't work? Also, does anybody know what file/app/etc... the settings to make these work are located? Thank...

Re: Daryna KDE CE BETA 044 is out!

I'm posting this while running the LiveCD. I haven't installed it yet, but from what I've played with so far it's looking good!

1 problem though. My laptop volume up/down and mute buttons don't work.

My play/pause/fwd/back media controls do work now though. Thanks Boo!

Re: Upgrading from Cassandra

Dangit! That's one of the biggest complaints I've had with other distros, and Mint KDE Cassandra has been the only one that they've worked with.

Do you know what package or settings are responsible for those working? Maybe I could figure it out on my own.

Re: Upgrading from Cassandra

Excellent! That's what I wanted to hear. I'll just hold off on installing til Daryna is out then.

Out of curiosity. Did you get a chance to look into the issues with the media controls that quit working between Cassandra and the Daryna betas?

Upgrading from Cassandra

Will it be possible and or a pain in the butt to upgrade from Cassandra KDE to Daryna KDE when it's done? I currently have Sidux on my laptop, but can't get everything to work on it. KDE Cassandra is the one distro that has worked the best on my laptop. I would like to be able to put it back on ther...

laptop volume buttons

First, let me say that it looks great and is definitley going in the right direction. And, the problem. My laptop volume up/down and mute buttons don't work. They worked perfectly out of the box in Cassandra. I also have media controls that are secondary using the function key that worked in Cassand...
