It's supposed to be although I set it back to the default theme several times it went back to the dark theme ...

Used to be DuckDuckGo and a few days ago they started using this dark theme.

I'm now using Startpage and it seems to work very well and I like it's plain simple look.

I installed the old T42 with AntiX; AntiX lasted until one of their rolling kernels killed it. Antix 17.4.1 Helen Keller installed on a 2006 HP Pavilion d4650y desktop and OOTB never had any Kernel problems. I've came back to "Cindy" for my laptops LMDE 3 Cindy OOTB is working for me without proble...

Re: "Laptop too powerful for linux"

The key word is "Sales personnel", their job is to sell the product and services for their employer. Computer knowledge is optional for the job and may actually impede the sales function. Talked to a few of these guys over the years and it is amazing some of the BS that they spouts. You expect the ...

An OS is an OS and as long as an OS does what I need to do on my computer I don't care which OS I use and from my experience they all work for what I do on my computers. 8)

Re: What do you like about mint?

It's free.
It works.

It's nothing special.
It's another Linux Distro.

I prefer LMDE over the standard Linux Mint versions best of both worlds.
Can't go wrong whatever Linux Mint version you choose they all work OK.

Re: W7 COAs good for w10 install in most cases

I'm making a decent amount of cash upgrading Windows 7 computers for users who want to get the free Windows 10 upgrade before Microsoft stops giving it away. :D I've upgraded twenty of my own desktops with the Windows 10 free upgrade and have sold all of them for $100.00 cash per desktop. :D It's a...

Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

If you don't think you made a mistake and you are happy with what you purchased than that's all that really matter's. I'm still watching an old 25 inch crt tv using an digital to analog converter box with an outdoor tv antenna and have zero complaints. If you are happy with it then doesn't matter wh...

Re: And now for something completely different!

That is really neat and really amazing what people were able to create in those times. The art and talent of real craftsmanship does seem to be a thing of the past these days. I have a few old wind up mantle clocks and a couple of really old grandfather clocks which I inherited. Thanks for sharing. :)

Use whatever OS works best for you and what you're needing to accomplish on you're computer.

My Wife uses Windows 10 and wouldn't even consider trying Linux much less using it.

Noord-Brabant (Netherlands): 19 degrees Celsius.
I could live with that temperature year round.

Here in Oklahoma City it's 98 degrees Fahrenheit although feels hotter than that. :(

The only good thing about Summer is when it's over.

I would buy a System 76 desktop computer system that cost $3000.00 as I wouldn't have anything to lose by doing so.

Re: I have finally stopped distro hopping!

Not to nit-pick but isn't running several distros by definition distro hopping? I don't think so because a user who's distro hopping generally will only test drive the distro for a short time perhaps before testing another. The reason I run several different Linux distros on several different compu...

Re: Debian 10 "Buster" was released

Yep Debian Wheezy was my first experience with Linux. I then tried Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr and still use Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver. I use LMDE 3 and prefer LMDE 3 over the Linux Mint standard versions which are OK. Yeah seems like a good enough reason to toss back a few double shoots of Wi...
