Re: Back In Time broke my system - Cannot login to Mint

Well now it makes much more sense. Thanks for explaining this!

It would be very helpful to have a message saying something like: "Disk space too low for Graphical Interface - try removing some files. You can do this through the command line or Linux Mint USB Live Environment"

Re: Back In Time broke my system - Cannot login to Mint

I deleted all the backup files BackInTime had made and everything's back to normal. Huh... I didn't know zero disk space could be so dramatic!

Thank you gm10 for helping you just saved me from a loooot of trouble :)

Re: Back In Time broke my system - Cannot login to Mint

Hi and thanks for your reply! During this time I figured out I actually could see the partition and succesfully saved my files from there. My last backup is from two days ago which isn't too bad for how it usually is. And this is exactly why I was trying BackInTime out, cause I wanted to automate it...

LM 19.2 removed Bitwig Studio

Hello! Linux Mint 19.2 removed a folder for Bitwig Studio 1.3 from /opt/bitwig-studio. In fact the whole /opt is gone. Is this something that is supposed to happen? This must've happened during some update. I don't know how to check which update might've been the culprit, but I noticed that in my Ti...

The printer state says: Stopped - File "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertogutenprint.5.2" not available: No such file or directory And Simple S...

Re: Brightness buttons not working on HP Elitebook Folio 9470m

I have installed the newest kernel and all the lower level updates as well but there has been no solution to this problem. It's not hard to live without but I do sometimes miss this functionality. I might move on to a newer version of Mint before this is fixed but it might benefit someone else as we...

Re: Brightness buttons not working on HP Elitebook Folio 9470m

Kernel: 4.15.0-29-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 5.4.0) I've now installed the new kernel and rebooted. It still doesn't work. I should note that when pressing the key combinations it does bring up the pop up for brightness on the top right of the screen but doesn't adjust it. And also the other FN com...

LM18.3 Sound quality reduction when opening Sound Settings

Hello! EDIT EDIT: I just noticed that this problem is still persisting. I've installed all but level 4-5 updates as usual after my original posts. At some point I thought this problem had vanished, but now it's still as in the original post. Repeatable problem: I watch a youtube video with Firefox a...

Re: AppImage not executing | LM 18.2 64-bit Xfce

Thank you for your replies! The problem was that the file was on an external hard drive and for some reason I cannot modify the permission on it even with sudo. After moving the file to my desktop I could tick the box and get it to run. I did reinstall fuse before that so I can't know if it had anyt...

Re: Make your Mint Beautiful.

Hey! I tried following these steps and I'm nowhere near what it's supposed to look like. Is meant to work on Linux Mint 18.2 Xfce? After placing the flat remix folder into .icons and running the commands I got: E: Unable to locate package flat-remix-icons Also when I switched to the Adapta theme it ...
