In Linux Lite Systemback (making live-usb and restoring on some partition) works okay I have seen on my new pc.
So I don't think the problem is Systemback.
Maybe this is of help?? : I have the issue with 'suspend' for example after making a backup with Systemback or sometimes after an update or just like that. Then the whole system is a little out of tune (EH complete problems with switching of Mint etc. in the listing; slow switching off.) Indeed it i...
I have the same and it happens when libgcrypt resume comes along. (startup with nosplash).
I have to move Mint Mate 17 to a new pc (also Asus), but no way. Boot halts.
Very remarkable: with Solydx and PCLinuxOS (other partitions) everything goes fine.... ??
Other 'boot-problem' with Mint 17: New computer. I made a live-usb with systemback, which is a great program, and installed on the new pc on a partition. All fine, but.. Mint 17 halts booting after the Btrfs-test (I did nosplash). It is NOT Systemback. For instance PCLinuxOS is doing super. It addap...
The 'spin down' in 'power management' in MATE made my system unstable concerning HD's and even gave problems with the use of Clonezilla from cd and/or pendrive. I had to search a lot before I found the origin of the problem. (I think some applications don't wait for the spin up, which gives the soft...
(For instance and not for discussion because off topic: in Xfce on some distro's my icons on the desktop are jumping all over the place. I'm slowly getting insane off it. No solution. And I don't like the well known work around. )
It all is beautiful to read what you guys are doing. But is it also possible to do things (very) simple? So booting in EFI- modus or whatever without higher computerknowledge? For years now I use PCLOS (with redo mbr for the bootloader) on a smaller parttition as a switch between some partitio...
Check the boot device order in your BIOS setup. The rEFInd partition should be before the Windows EFI partition. I'm really dumb in this field. Is it that the 200 MB thing? And how do things go with that 'rEFInd'? Is that an downloadable ISO or what? :) I can't imagine the total proces, let's say. :D
I'm sorry, I was editing while you wrote. The netconnection does not work after install of the remastered system. I've done it a lot of times (also with re-install from the repo of the network-manager and another manager) until I gave up. :) I also have tried 'Relinux'. Does work until the writing ...

No, neither do I. But it hurts the Ubuntu-side of Linux rather hard. Maybe some-one is willing to look at it. Btw: everything still works with remastersys (also on Mint 17 as far as I can see), but after install of a customsystem the webconnection does not. (I have more Remastersyses here, the lates...
At the moment I consider it a real problem for Linux?! I'm not good in writing this kind of scripts at that level, but else I would make something simple myself. It's astonnishing that nobody did already. It can't be só hard one would think?? It has been one of the reasons I went to Linux. Making yo...
I like to put Mint 17 from this pc to another with different hardware.
Formerly I did it simply via Remastersys, very easy. But it does not work right anymore. It kills my new netconnection.
Has anybody an advice for this?
I don't know what is best. It fits here, I thought? :) The things I wrote I mostly can do in flavours of Linux, but not in Mint I'm afraid. That's why I ask. To spread it all over the place is not my intention. :? I always search 'the fit'. Maybe some-one reads what we write if we keep it active.
Please can anybody tell me how to make a nice ISO of this system (Mint 17 32 bit) and how to put it correctly on a usb-stick? Nothing of this works right now. I had the same in another distro, but they helped me out with a new kernel 3.16... I repeated that here of course.. but no.. In the me...
Make an ISO of your Mint, produce a livecd/dvd/usb, ajust your harddisk, make a ext3 or ext4 partition plus evt. swap next to Windows and ready. Install the live-medium on the new partition (the way Windows likes; I only use Linux, so I don't know about Grub and Windows). (Problem today is: is it po...
